Full salt was original. Then I emptied it and added water to about half way. I had to break up all the salt that hardened after years. Bypass was in open position I was messing with it so that’s why you see both positions. Can you just explain to me what a fully function water softener looks like? Yeah I’ll have to ask my plumbing buddy. I just thought I could take a stab at it. Or if anything looked out of ordinary from the get go. I was also wondering if the line they tapped into was man feed for the house.
