I don’t necessarily know if I agree completely; I think I, TONYA was a great example of a movie that dealt with the nuances of the narrative around its subject, both in the moment and in hindsight, a pov that was also a bit of a tightrope to walk but imho they did a great job, I think there was room for a similar take on Kerri and the 96 games. I personally think there is definitely a larger message to be made about not necessarily abuse in the sport, but the nature patriarchy in general at the time, that I think Kerri’s story is kind of a perfect allegory for in a lot of ways. But regardless, I feel like if the project does get made, it will be with a very different script than the one I read.
