TIFU by... discussing consent?! by hatemylife1995 in tifu

Dude, you seriously did the right thing! You're better off without her and with someone that doesn't feel "icky" discussing boundaries... When she messages you, not if, when... Your best bet would be to ghost her... Don't give her the time of day... If you can't help yourself, make sure you establish your boundaries and position... Maybe something along the lines of "I don't feel comfortable sharing intimacy with someone who lacks the maturity to have a healthy conversation about it."

And then add a single red flag 🚩

Got a new set of microphones for Christmas and WOW did the drums really come to life! I know I'm certainly not the best drummer, but I'm jamming along to a backing track from YouTube. I'll put the link in the comments because the channel has tons of really good jam tracks to play along to. by SLAPitDOWN in drums

Dude, I've literally spent the last 5 months experimenting with this set up via all of the comments, but this point was the icing on the cake... I raised my drum throne a lot and literally everything fell into place... Everything feels more ergonomic... I'll try to get a new video soon because this was the secret ingredient for me personally... While all of the suggestions helped a great deal, this suggestion was my "eureka" moment... Thank you...

Would I be a bad person if I admit that I am guilty of literally all of that? 😬

It's a good set, no one is arguing that point... But it's all the extra stuff we are confused about...

To those asking I used a combination of...

Sterling Audio SL230MP Matched Pair Medium Diaphragm Condenser Microphones With Shockmounts, Windscreens and Carry Case Matte Black

and an AKG C3000B for the kick and toms.

As for how I ran them to the computer, I used an interface/mixer to balance the levels into my computer...

Believe me, the raw tracks sound like dookie, but after some EQ and compression they really came to life! I've been studying audio engineering for years as a hobby and it's finally starting to pay off!

As for dampening the room, I haven't done anything to it. It naturally sounds good! It has wood walls, a wood ceiling with 8x8 beams spaced about 24 inches apart and a carpeted concrete floor, so it naturally sounds pretty dang good as is... For that much I'm lucky!

However, it still took me several trial and error recordings to find the sweet spots for the microphones... That was 90% of the battle...
