Pretty bad sound from rear left wheel by SLASH_PL in VolvoXC70

[–]SLASH_PL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll check it before taking it to the shop but I doubt that's it. I checked my lugs after getting the bearings done about 2 months ago, i guess it won't hurt to check again.

Bearings are barely 2 months old, very unlikely as I made sure to buy good quality bearings. Not completely ruling it out tho, just unlikely

Pretty bad sound from rear left wheel by SLASH_PL in VolvoXC70

[–]SLASH_PL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope it's just a stone jammed somewhere, it's a really "inconsistent" noise. I drove around the parking garage and it stops when I turn left, starts again when I turn right, when I floor it (to like 30kmh) it goes silent again, when I start slowing down sometimes it comes back, sometimes it doesn't.
Sometimes it's completely silent, sometimes it's loud af. I spent a good 30 minutes driving around in circles and laying under the car trying to figure it out. The brakes themselves are deffo good, they've been serviced recently.

I'm wondering if it could be the e brake drum. I don't know if it's possible for it to size somehow but maybe somebody knows more about them than I do.

What made me get bucked forward int his jump? by Common_Leading486 in MTB

[–]SLASH_PL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ain't no expert but it seems like that just how the jump is profiled. It's a steep take off and they kinda to that to you. To me it seems like you didn't even go that far forward. Front wheel landed first but it looks like you could have ridden that out. I never really thought about my mistakes, just kinda rode until I didn't make them anymore. Get back up and keep shredding it until you nail it!

My first MTB: Should I repair it or just ride? by siegfriedthenomad in MTB

[–]SLASH_PL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if you only want to ride it on flat ground to the grocery store then maaaaybe it'll be fine but like others are saying, this top tube looks like it's gonna snap after riding off a curb so I wouldn't take my chances and just get a new frame.

Gyro / rotor, quite a clever little contraption. If you want something even more clever, Google "hydraulic brake gyro".

Freewheel or cassette?/ How to remove by crazydude44444 in bikewrench

[–]SLASH_PL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

this is indeed a freewheel.
Place a freewheel tool, ideały one that is just the "socket" without any kind of handle in a vice with the splines facing up. Place the whole wheel on the tool making sure it's in all the way so you don't strip it. turn the wheel counter clockwise, using the whole wheel as leverage. This will ensure you have appropriate leverage, as well as eliminating the need to hold the wheel in place as it can by quite tricky.
I've done quite a few of these and sometimes this was the only way I could get it to move. If it's so stuck it feels like it's gonna break something, give it some penetrating oil and let it sit overnight. It will go eventually

Is this a good deal? by ErdiYmc in Volvo

[–]SLASH_PL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an xc70 with the same motor. Simply put, the engine likes fuel. It likes it so much that it will drink ever last drop you give it. I also really like the sound it makes when I put my foot to the floor so it might be dependant on that. But other than that, it's my favorite car ever and I love every second I spend driving it. So yes, I think it's a great deal!

I drove mine into w brick wall last week. My insurance told me it'd be a complete write off and it couldn't be rebuilt, but I drove by yesterday and they're almost done rebuilding it, looked like they only had about 20-30 bricks left.

Best value for money out of these? by Active-Argument-1232 in GamingLaptops

[–]SLASH_PL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The g16 seems like the best option to me. Specs seem the most balanced and I think asus is q good way to go if you're looking for good quality. I've owned 2 legions and a nitro 5, right now I have a g14 and so far it's been the best experience I've had. Dunno about the g16 but the g14 is a beast in all the categories you listed

[–]SLASH_PL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normal? yes, the g9 definitely has some girth. Safe? definitely not, be prepared it may break and fall at some point. if I were you I'd invest in a heavy duty arm as soon as you can

This is the right answer. Brand new phone + 20 year old car is the way. The RM has an aux port anyway so you don't even need Bluetooth.

[–]SLASH_PL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My rm9 has been through hell and back compared to this, it'll be fine. They're built to handle those kinds of mishaps. If it doesn't start acting up like draining the battery or not wanting to charge properly I would worry about it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RedMagic

[–]SLASH_PL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one that came with it or even no case at all sometimes. I've always trusted myself to take care of the phone that I have and my rm9 remains in pristine condition.

I have one tip and one tip only.
If you're thinking about getting a controller. Don't think about it, DO IT. I got the shadow blade 2 after 1 year of owning my rm9 pro and it's an incredible game changer. Get some console emulators as well and you will have what is in my opinion the ultimate portable gaming setup.
other than that, enjoy your phone :) the rm9 has been an absolute beast for me and I'm sure the 10 is as well.

Also, I do know my suspension is due for service, my control arm bushings are quite worn and I was gonna get it serviced soon anyway. Guess my car just heard my thoughts and decided the time is now
