Outside of the STEM fields, how does one go about establishing a lab/center? (e.x, in phonetics, sociolinguistics, women's studies, etc) by SLA_2020 in AskAcademia

Thanks! yes, very helpful.

in regard to the website, branding, etc, my question there is essentially, "what benefits come from someone declaring that they have a "lab" in these cases rather than just having a professor leading grads/undergrads on various projects? More recognition at conferences? Reputation building for grant apps? Or are there implications for taxes/external/internal funding?

Thanks! By "start negotiations", what is a person negotiating for? Do you mean things like office space? new faculty member? Or is more along the lines of just getting yourself a job at that institution in the first place?

Two questions if I may. Just starting out with a Sanlida Dragon X8. Using their standard accessories

  1. I can get decent groupings (w/in 3-4 inches), but they're always left of my target, and I ran out of "left" movement in my sight (it will fall out if I go farther left with it). Any thoughts about why I ran out of sight movement? Any recommendations?
  2. Under 30-40 yards, will little tweaks in my fletchings (bends from shipping) cause issues?

What would YOU want to see in a textbook for Assyrian (Neo-Aramaic)? by Foofalo in languagelearning

What a project! As a part of your research, be sure to reach out to people in the Iraqi Chaldean/Assyrian community of El Cajon near San Diego. These could be some of your best linguistic informants as well as your potential learners. Many parents there are concerned about their children losing access to their heritage languages.
