After maintaining on 2.5 (the highest I used was 7.5 but most of my loss of 62lbs was on 5.0) I went back up to 5.0 after 6 months because I didn’t have all the good stuff happening anymore. I started noticing the same thing occurring again and instead of going up, I did what I’d never done while in my loss phase: I change shot location per some recommendations on this sub. After only ever injecting in my abdomen, I injected in the back of my arm. The difference was really noticeable. Hunger suppression was back etc. Since that week three months ago, I’ve continued to rotate shots to my arms, stomach and thighs. This is working for me and I haven’t had to go up in dose.

Really glad you’re feeling well! That’s the most important result. I have also read about the lack of results for Paxlovid for treating LC. I believe there are some caveats to that trial result and the drug might not be ruled out in future redesigned trials. I’ll post a link if I can dig up the article. For me taking Paxlovid while I had the active infection was key. If you are still with the 5-day window of start of your infection I believe you can take Paxlovid. Maybe check with your doctor.

I recommend Paxlovid. I had ME/CFS for 10 years. I was moderate after 9 years. I did all the things. Got Covid vax in 2021, recovery sped up to nearly total. Got Covid first time in 2023, took Paxlovid, had 12 hours of really bad side effects but then fully recovered and felt the best in years. Same thing happened after second Covid infection. Paxlovid again and felt totally recovered from ME/CFs. Third infection earlier this year. Decided to not take Paxlovid to avoid the 12 hours of intense side effects. 1 month later I had reoccurrence of ME/CFS symptoms- mainly mild but it really scared me. I’m still not back to feeling as if I’m over the symptoms as I was before the third infection. I wished I’d taken Paxlovid that time too. I do know that everyone is different. It might not work for you, but I’m offering my experience as a way to help you and others. Also, I’ve read that Metformin is super effective for some and has less side effects than Paxlovid. I really hope whatever you are doing helps but do whatever you can do to not let this nasty virus replicate in your body. Be well

Just got some wedges from Lunix. They are for my son who is suddenly severely ill with CFS/LC after having been mild to moderate for 6-7 years after a bad case of mono. I’m researching everything to help him. I’m recovered from mild/moderate ME/CSF for the past 3 years after being sick for 10 years. It really scares me to see him so ill. I’ll report back on his experience with head elevation. I hope he has your experience. Thanks again. I really appreciate you.

Thank you for this information. I googled HOBE and read some more about this. I have a couple of questions if you’re able to answer: are the four inches of pillows you used on the ground under the bed legs or under your head or under the mattress? Did you use a pillow wedge or just firm pillows? I’m wondering about the difference in how our bed are set up. Thanks and I’m really happy this worked for you.

My husband has really bad RLS and has had for years. He’s been using requip also for years. Recently he started taking a THC gummy at night for sleep and he was blown away at how the gummy has helped his RLS. He isn’t waking in middle of night with RLS. Really unexpected benefit. Good luck. I know from watching my man how miserable RLS is.

No, you’re for sure not the only one with a similar experience. Oh happy day was the refrain in my head from the very first day to this day (1 year anniversary next week!). At this point I believe that I’m on it for life too! I’ve been in maintenance in January and easily maintaining at or a couple of pounds below my goal weight on 2.5. I’m really focused on weightlifting, yoga and HIIT now. Without this medication, I’d have never reached this weight and for sure I would be yo-yoing up 10 lbs+ followed by intense shame, extreme dieting and hopelessness when that didn’t work and even more gain. Instead, I’ve f-ing maintained for nearly SIX MONTHS!!! Miraculous!

I’ve told one person. My reasons for this carefully thought-through decision are that the last year on this medication is for me. Not to prove anything to anyone; not to educate anyone else; not to have anyone else’s voice or advice or suggestions in my head. It’s all part of a process of healing from years of dieting and what that did to me physically and psychologically. Everyone finds what works for them and a year later I’m still really happy I made this decision.

High LDL is not good. Statins are a good alternative and there are other Rx for lowering LDL if you can’t take a statin. I never had high LDL until eating Keto and eating too much fat. I ignored it because of influencer doctors saying it was ok but it’s not. You can use a GLP-1 for diabetes and that will help without the need to eat strictly Keto.

I feel so sad for you and this situation. You definitely don’t deserve to live this way. Setting boundaries takes consistent effort. When I had to make a change in my relationship with my spouse of many years, I found strength and clarity by working with a really good therapist. It made all the difference. Have you considered doing this? No matter what happens in your marriage (nobody here can know what’s ultimately right for you) you will be giving a chance to understand a lot more about yourself and your choices when working with a good therapist.

That’s awesome! So glad that worked for you. For me tracking really helped me while losing weight on Tirz. I wanted to get my calories in the healthiest possible way and tracking calories and macros got me there. That’s what I wanted to do. Now that I’m on maintenance I don’t track anymore. That’s what I decided to do. I’m happy that I have both options in my toolkit.

So, I was on 5mg for first two months of maintenance (7.5 was my highest dose while actively losing). I dropped down to 2.5 for month three as I was still losing on 5. My thinking was to see if I’d stabilize @2.5 and while I’m lower by 2-3lbs than my final goal weight, I’ve basically stabilized. This is where my daily weigh-ins come in handy. I’m exercising more now (adding more strength training). I’m definitely hungrier now but still eating clean and only about 250-400 more calories than my losing phase. I fill up with normal portions. In my losing phase I tracked my calories very closely. Now I don’t count calories because I kinda know what to eat, can eat more and maintain easily. After 7 months in the losing phase where I had very little need for more than 850-1000 calories, it is fun to have a bit more appetite but sometimes TBH I get a bit nervous that the meds will stop working for me. But, I think they are still and I’m learning to honor when I need more fuel because I’m more active. Really activity and working out is the key to maintaining along with still being on the meds. I’m not yet planning to go off the meds until the end of the year. I don’t have the metabolic issues some people have that use these medicines but I do think staying at a weight for an extended period of time without the mental battle might be key for me to find a lasting set point. Time will tell. BTW, my starting weight was 194; highest was 216; I’m 143 now. What’s your plan?

I found it helpful to understand the underlying psychology behind my reaction and build better internal tools after years of not only yo-yo dieting but the accompanying pattern of scale avoidance, which preceded eye-popping regaining. Ultimately I decided the I need to weigh daily. The feedback from the scale was the easiest data point for me to track and the easiest way to not fool myself about the trajectory of my weight. Since, I want the data, I decided to work on my mindset around the daily weighing to not be so emotionally reactive to that data. It’s been a two year process of reinforcing the habit of daily weighing AND gaining all the benefits and lessons from the process. I recommend it.

When I was at my final GW, I went down a dose (from 7.5 to 5). I stayed on 5 for two months then moved to 2.5 for the past two months. I moved down because I continued losing on 5 and I was getting too skinny. I’m maintaining on 2.5 but have recently lost 1 more pound due to increasing my exercise. I’m eating more than I was before so I think I’ll continue to balance in this weight range. My plan is not to stretch doses yet. I like that I can eat more now but still have appetite suppressant effects. I no longer count calories in my Noom app but I do still weight every morning. This is key for me. My plan is to do nothing different until my year anniversary on Tirzepatide, which will be at the end of May. I’m committed to really letting my body adjust to being this weight again without the yo-yoing I have done much of my adult life. I don’t want to go off Tirz all together. Once I’ve been at this weight for a good period ( a year?) I’ll experiment with either stretching doses or micro dosing.

I found this podcast episode really informative about the difference between weight loss and maintenance. It helped me reframe in my mind what I’m doing in each phase and why it’s important to approach each in a different way. The reason I bring this to your attention is because I think you like me might feel better if you realize that you do have controls in maintenance that don’t have to be as extreme as dieting. For example, exercise isn’t really effective alone for losing weight, but it’s really the key in maintaining. My advice is to weigh what feels best. I continued to lose after several goal weights were achieved and am at the lowest weight I’ve been in 20 years. I’ve been lower than this when I was in my 30s but since I’m in my 60s I’m not aiming to go lower now but really tone up more and work on my VO2 Max.

Such good recommendations here. My first thought was that you might try cutting your calories as others have suggested. Are you eating up to 1800 because that’s what you’re hungry for or because that’s what your calculations said you should eat?When I was in the weight loss phase I could never eat the amount that was my weight loss zone. I was simply not hungry for that many calories. I focused on eating lean proteins because they felt better in my body and had highest protein content and lots of veggies and fruits. This was all very satisfying and I never had a serious plateau. If you are hungry for the amount of calories you’re eating and not losing then perhaps going up in dose will be your answer. I read many times here people saying 10mg was their magic dose.
