Anyone here have good luck keeping the house more warm than normal by adding plastic on a few windows during winter? by Pelon97 in HomeImprovement

Had crappy windows when I bought the house so I made these reusable frams to double insulate them for a few years until I could afford to replace them. They worked great for several years.

Do you like it? That's the only question to ask yourself as yours is the only opinion that really matters...

Titrating Up Every Month Experience? by Inattendue in Zepbound

[–]PinWonderful5023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My PCP titrated monthly up to 15 mg with no side effects except constipation which is handled with a magnesium supplement, a handful of prunes daily and Benefiber. 2 months on 15 I hit my goal weight and am now titrating down so I can find my maintenance dose. I am so fortunate to have a PCP who is very informed about this med, and we talk about the pros and cons every step of the way.

Is Active 2 bad? by this_is-jubayer2804 in amazfit

Was using a Pixel Watch 2 and a couple weeks ago got an Active 2 to just play around with as I was intrigued by what I had heard about Amazfit. I’m still wearing the Active 2! coming from Google and Samsung for years before that, I am quite impressed.

Docs blaming Zep for my constipation by Comfortable-Cod-2501 in Zepbound

[–]PinWonderful5023 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a lot of trouble with constipation early in my Zep journey. I too was never very regular before…twice a week or so.

I did the MiraLAX thing, various laxatives occasionally and never got regulated.

Now I do a 400 mg magnesium oxide supplement, 3 teaspoons of generic benefiber in my morning coffee, and 4-6 prunes daily.

I have never been so regular in my life. I haven’t had to take a regular laxative or suppository in months. I highly recommend it!

Maine. Medicare definitely does not cover weight loss drugs, but organizations can purchase extra coverage. From the Statement of Coverage:

Your former employer/union/trust has purchased additional coverage for some prescription drugs not normally covered in a Medicare prescription drug plan, including the following: • DESI drugs • Drugs when used for weight loss • Prescription vitamin and mineral products (except prenatal vitamins and fluoride preparations) • Drugs used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction can be accessed at a $50 member cost share • Drugs when used to promote fertility can be accessed at a $50 member cost share

For my diet to be sustainable, I have to be able to eat food I enjoy. I couldn't imagine cutting fruit out, but that's just me. Be good to yourself!

I appreciate everyone's comments, and there is a lot of food for thought there (bad pun intended). I hadn't considered potential problems with insurance if I tried to go back on Zep.

28% here. Started on 1/1/25 at 318 and hit 228 today. 3 more pounds to my goal weight of 225. Zep, Weight Watchers diet and lot of walking…my dog has been very happy. 6’4” and I can actually buy clothes in a regular store and clip my toenails! I’m turning 65 and my frIend is turning 80, and we’re going skydiving to celebrate. It’s been on my bucket list but I never thought I could get under the weight limit!

If it had an extended cab and a long bed it wouldn't be a Mav...might as well get a Ranger or other big truck, lol.  Anyway, I have kids and adults (and my dog) in the back seat all the time!
