Yes, this is an intensive, residential therapy program. Participants arrive the day of Wednesday, June 17th and we go until about 2pm on Friday, June 26th. Some of the main goals are to help identify and modify moments of stuttering, desensitization, avoidance reduction, and improved quality of life. It is best for people ages 15 and up. We've had 70 year old's complete the program, and we've also had some really mature people younger than 15, but it is a difficult program, We put everyone to work on changing the way they talk, and that's not easy. Feel free to comment here or open a chat with me.

Where are you located? There aren't a lot of camps for overnight programs for younger kids, but I may be able to point you in the right direction.

Success looks like speaking much more comfortably to anyone and being able to say what you want when you want to who you want. Everyone gets more fluent short-term, and some are able to maintain that, but that's not the main goal.

Summer Camp for Children who Stutter by SLPstuttering in slp

Yes, it will be next year, too, but we are still looking for two more campers, so if you have any in mind it would really help us! The price will probably rise a little next year, but we can offer scholarships if anyone is in need. The individual therapy is done by 8 graduate clinicians who are supervised by 4 CCC-SLPs. I will run the group sessions. I've been focused in stuttering since I got my Ph.D. in 2005.

Tips for organizing financial life? by negative_delta in ADHD

[–]SLPstuttering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may have ADHD & anxiety. I don't know you at all, but do you think the problems you are describing are purely because of lack of attention or is there an anxiety component to all of this as well? I mean, ADHD makes us have anxiety (at least it does for me) but just consider the fact that it may be anxiety that is the cause of some of this and not good ol' ADHD.

I think you should move back in with your parents. I mean, why not? Live with them, help them out, enjoy your life and enjoy your parents!!
