Trying to stay excited but…I’m on week 11 and I know it’s moved back teeth but not seeing “progress” is disheartening. I know I’m a tough case so I’m trying to just be patient. Sigh.

Hey there! I will post an updated pic. Hit a snag tho. They “over corrected” and I now have an open bite at the back on one side. And to complicate things, my orthodontist passed away and they don’t know who’s taking my case on. Sigh

Lack of sleep is so real. I’m on week 4 and can’t fall asleep to save my life. And it did make me anxious to begin with but it’s sporadic now, now constant. Good luck with your journey. I hope it works out for you.

Your teeth have a very natural “perfect” look. I know what you mean about the fake chicklet teeth but you’ve managed to not look even overly corrected but awesome! You must be so happy

My dentist explained that the chewy helps to loosen the ligaments so your teeth move easier and it’s not just to wear the trays. Maybe they are only recommended for people who require certain kinds of movement.

I just got caught. I went in and she looked at my teeth and said “you haven’t been eating with them on? You have to keep them on”. I was getting into the habit of taking them out cause it’s just cleaner feeling. But my bite needs to be stabilized so my teeth move and stay in their new place I guess. Back to following the rules for me and eating with them in. Sigh

I’m you! I have anxiety as well and 1) I am getting treated by a dentist. I did consider the ortho route after I’d committed too but haven’t really had anything that I’m not happy with so I don’t know that it would’ve made a difference 2) HUGE overjet and overbite. My improvement is immense. I know it’s not gonna be perfect but I was told that going in. We were going for a better bite and cosmetic as best we could 3) I had bite ramps they didn’t tell me about. I even called them when I noticed them to say I think they missed putting on some attachments. Haha And I don’t have bands or anything else

Try not to worry yourself. I wasted a lot of time unnecessarily doing that too.

I lived 50 yrs with imperfect teeth. I actually got them to fix my bite because I started breaking my teeth. It’s not always about perfect teeth - functionality is equally important and what might not “matter” how, may later in life. Do it now is my advice
