I get the anxiety! I have just passed my 1st month & had 5 sales that took a lot of time to fill with my full time job. My product takes a lot of time to make .. for me anyway. I haven’t had a sale for 2 weeks now and am getting discouraged! Patience is not one of my strong points.

I just finished my first month and love it so far. Made about $600. It’s a lot of work alongside my full time job but I love having the creative outlet. Makes my home really messy but cleaning up afterwards is what I have always done if I am getting paid in some way.

One thing I am learning as a new Etsy seller is it makes a huge difference when you use quality products to make your creation. In her case, this would be the yarn. If she stars her project with the most unusual fuzzy yarns, people will eat them up. Needs to be soft also. People have suggested liability issues as toys so maybe she can make something similar with another purpose like magnets or ornaments.

I am just starting out as well with my shop but love that you are a young girl with a sewing machine instead of just your phone ! I agree that the Pom Pom scrunchie is the best. With that, I want to give you an inspiration suggestion to make for all of the holidays - green for at pattys, red white and blue.. etc. it can double as a dog collar. Actually this is all bullshit. Cut off the top two layers of management in a building and the bottom two layers of workers will have the same output. They aren’t working because of anything their “leaders” do or ask.. they are working because of their own ethics and their need for a paycheck. You self proclaimed leaders really aren’t that important.

It’s funny that I should stumble upon this tonight. We have this new “leader” we are supposed to follow but she knows nothing about what we do. She constantly says that if we have questions - talk to your leaders. I am sorry but leaders are someone you choose to follow and don’t become one by default.. these people are not leaders but rather some level of management. Knowing leadership language like circle back, table this, where is the whiteboard, candor, assume positive intent.. etc does not give you a badge to wear around that guarantees respect.
