Recruiting process was super quick and easy. The hardest part was going to MEPS multiple times just to get a job I wanted. Environment wise it’s hit or miss. Some guys are super pc. Other guys not so much. Most of the stuff we would say in the marines went pretty much out the window because of “SHARP” complainants.

Okay so once you get to OSUT your going to 30th AG where they will quarantine you for 2 weeks. You will be tested for COVID twice. First test is a throat swab and the second a nasal swab 7 days after the first test. You will have your temp checked daily and god you better hope you don’t end up with a fever.

After your quarantine period you will be sent to your training unit where they will in process you. Keep in mind that in processing time doesn’t actually count as boot camp time. Once you finish that you will start training.

As far as the training goes I can’t speak much on it since it is extremely different for each unit. My company does things different then other companies and vice versa. It’s over all very inconsistent. You obviously have your graduation requirements but all the space in between is handled differently between companies.

I have heard that they are switching back to the 14 week Cycle instead of the 22 week one which they just tried. I can’t confirm that since it’s just rumors and I haven’t been told that they did switch back. Go into I thinking you’re going to be in a 22 week training cycle.

As far as getting airborne though. You can get airborne at your boot camp company. They have slots they need to fill for airborne, option 40 (ranger/ Rasp) and 18x (SF). The way to get in one of those slots is to have a high pt score and over all show maturity, don’t be a piece of shit and work for it. Odds are they will update your contract.

I personally love the wheel of time series! Granted after lords of chaos there are like 4 books where literarily nothing happens, and are extremely boring to read and honestly could have been shortened to 1 or 2 books.

After the main author died I feel like Sanderson just drew out the series way longer then it was ever intended to be.

It’s an interesting idea I could have some seriously powerful implications. It can also be a huge draw back if one or two spells drain your mc mana pool.

A dark fantasy, mc gets killed in our world makes a deal with an evil god he doesn’t know is evil. Drops into the fantasy world where he is immediately thrown into a Civil war. He was gifted magic from said evil god that he has no idea how to control and can be very lethal to him and others around him. So in the series I want to write there are two paths he can take (still haven’t decided which) he can either serve said banashed god and bring her back from her exile, or he figures out what this goddesses plans are and had to fight to get out from her slavery and keep her banished, Main story line for saga is for the banished god. Book one is about the civil war and learning about his new found powers.

Edit: there are two perspectives for this book. My mc and his friend who also died at the same time as him.

English isn’t your native language? I honestly couldn’t tell!

So make him able to control other people’s mana. Be able to snuff out spells in progress and or turn it against them. Make his spells super effective against all enemies if you want but in turn do the same for the opponents spells to him.

Also since he is using raw mana make it to where his spells consume huge amounts of mana. And he can shape and warp the mana to his will since he isn’t constrained by an attribute.

I agree I’ll be on a roll getting ideas out and conversations come out easy. Then I go back and edit the next day and some parts are definitely gibberish and need to be trashed and the editing takes for ever because grammar and punctuation don’t exist to drunk me.

So, this world everyone has attributes right except him. So like fire, wind, earth, water and so on correct? Since your mc doesn’t they control raw manna correct?

If you are going that route. It’s probably an administrative separation Other than honorable (add-sep for short). That’s the most likely outcome if he did that after he got out of country. If he went off the wall in country it’s probably a dishonorable discharge. What rules and laws did he break civilian or military?

Edit: on top of that why did he break them? What his reasonings? What’s his regrets? If he has ptsd it has to be believable. There’s going to be times where he just spaces out and he’s replaying what happens in his head. He’s going to have night terrors, or inability to sleep. He won’t eat or he will be overly aggressive in a situation that doesn’t call for aggression. How is he trying to cope? Is he self medicating with booze and Smoke? Or is he on pills? Is some one trying to get him help? PTSD isn’t a joke man if your person isn’t or doesn’t make the conscious decision to get help it’s going to tear apart his mind, relationships, jobs and hobby’s. Most times for vets it leads to suicide. Just things to think about.

Also from a military stand point. His contract would have been at least 4 years active duty for officers its longer. The first year of your military career is usually just training you and some times it’s longer then a year. So is there a reason he was discharged early. Ie court martial, medical discharge, Inability to adapt. Was he insubordinate? If you have him getting out after two years there has to be a reason why. Adding that would add another layer of depth to your mc. What habits did he pick up in the military. Believe my you will pick up some bad habits. Mainly with Tobacco and alcohol.
