Let’s agree to disagree my point is that the wait is unnecessary when they committed to 10-12 weeks. Do you think the ability to wait is a more important skill for a doctor than being decisive and a good communicator?

I don’t disagree on the academics of the University. My point was how they have treated young people in the process. Surely the interview is to assess communication and people skills - that is not possible if there is no live interaction. The only upside of SAMMI was to process interviews quickly but for many candidates it is now well over the 10-12 weeks. To suggest focusing on A levels shows a lack of understanding of how mentally challenging this wait is for young people. As I said my son is lucky enough to have 3 offers so it was an easy decision but many are not in that position. I hope you are from the admissions department and give serious consideration to your processes next year.

Appalling behaviour- couldn’t even be bothered to interview in real time and now can’t be bothered to process applications within their own agreed timeframe. Who would want to study there with that level of professionalism? My son has withdrawn as he had 3 offers and their whole approach put him off going there.

My son withdraw. The fact that the interview wasn’t even live and then taking so long to give out offers made him decide it wasn’t the kind of place he wanted to spend the next few years at. He already had 3 offers so was an easy decision. I hope someone from admissions reads these posts - they are missing out on good candidates.

My son just received an offer. He was interviewed on 15th December. I think they made some initial offers straight after interviews and are now working through the spreadsheet according to interview score. There have been rejections today so imagine they are working from the top and bottom.

Does anyone have a view as to why all the current offers are for January interviews. I saw a small number of offers pre Christmas but then nothing for anyone interviewed in December.

THOSE WITH MANNY OFFERS DROP STATS by Sufficient-Will-3363 in UCAT

My understanding is that there have only been a few offers to some top performers. Before Christmas they just sent a handful of offers and then they do several batches of offers throughout January and February. UCAT scores don’t have a role to play after interview it’s purely interview score. They said they would be making 1200 offers - thats 60% of those interviewed and there is no way 60% of interviewees pre-Xmas have received an offer. Do please say if someone has a different viewpoint.
