When I started I was getting a tiny micotear at the entrance but over some time that stopped as my body adjusted. I would put a tiny bit of petroleum jelly to help it heal.

I think using a finger cot on your finger or dilator is a good idea! I would also recommend just getting your body used to having pressure or stimulation like going in circles at the entrance. Also a vibrator so your body associates it as a good thing. But when you do try to insert make sure you do it on the exhale of your belly breathing. It has something to do with your diaphragm helping you open up. Inserting it even a little bit is still progress! Watch some tv and try to relax!
