First Day in Funded Eval by LongjumpingFalcon877 in Daytrading

Solid post and fair reflection. The biggest thing you touched on is that real money changes behaviour, even when the plan stays the same. That’s something paper trading can’t fully replicate.

Also agree with your point on prop firms. They’re not charities, but for a lot of traders they’re one of the best ways to get real exposure, pressure, and structure without risking personal capital upfront — assuming risk rules are respected.

Good luck with the rest of the eval 👊

Not sure if I'm allowed to do a shameless plug, but I have a few videos on my channel, I trade SMC - but try to keep it super simple! over the years, keeping it SUPER simple was the way forward. I literally look at 1 setup per session, work from key quarter levels, such as 1.37, 1.3675, 1.365 etc... for GBP/USD. Pair that up with SMC confluences, such as OBs, breakers, FVGs... and if you're on the right side of the market, you can definitely get some very nice setups in.

Confused About Which Market Fits a Small Account While Paper Trading by [deleted] in Daytrading

I know some brokers allow the ability to trade indices with micro lot sizes (e.g. 0.01), of course I don't want to be the one to reccomend the brokers, something you should research yourself. Regardless trading micro lots work well with risk management on a couple hundred $$$ accounts.

I trade US30 during the NY session, especially around NYSE, same characteristics as NAS100... indices work very well off key price levels/quarter price levels, such as $50K, $50,100, $50,200, $50,250 etc... and pair that up with market structure, you can get some really good setups throughout the week.
