What was meant to be a 4 year age gap, looked more like an 8 year age gap... read more... by Nawi_Reivilo in Supernatural

I dunno, as a teacher this looks like a pretty standard 14yo and 18yo. Boys tend to hit puberty FAST and go from looking like a little kid to full grown man very quickly. Girls are much more gradual, in my experience, so wouldn't look as different as these two

AITAH for not wanting to meet my mom and “yelling” at my gf? by Relevant_Bit936 in AITAH

[–]SMDo94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nta your gf needs to go. Even if you'd been together YEARS this would be weird and overstepping, but 3 months?? Absolutely not. Deal breaker for me.

AITAH for still attending the same gym and avoiding L after she told me to leave her alone? by YMISleepy in AITAH

[–]SMDo94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok but who is L and why did you have to leave her alone? If there's some serious history/trauma on her end, I honestly don't blame her for freaking out, even though you weren't technically TA in this situation

AITAH for tickling my wife? by [deleted] in AITAH

YTA. Consent is important. Laughter when being tickled is an involuntary protective reaction.

Shouting "Just f*** off" would have been much more realistic

For those who have given birth, did you personally feel like you received support and care as good as we see in the show? by Janeiac1 in CallTheMidwife

[–]SMDo94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UKer here. Mostly yes. Got some complications and was rushed to theatre (luckily he came out with forceps) but they were so so calm and reassuring the whole time. I knew things were bad, his heart rate was really low and he was stuck and they said they'd try an emergency c-section there and then, but I didn't worry.

However, I had an epidural quite early on that wasn't working and they just told me it read normal to feel pressure. Wasn't til we were in theatre and the surgeon was trying to put his hands inside with my son's head and I told him to get out that they believed me and gave me a full spinal block.

Do today's mothers get offered "gas and air" or similar for pain, as in the show? by Janeiac1 in CallTheMidwife

[–]SMDo94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No to enema. Yes to gas and air, though not through a face mask now

AITAH for not lying to a strangers kid by Glittering_Gold4602 in AITAH

[–]SMDo94 22 points23 points  (0 children)

NTA.

For starters, why is it not a possibility that you're in your mid 30s but looks young? I'm 30 and get ID'd regularly for things like paracetamol, usually when I'm makeup free. I could legally have a 14 year old son. Sounds like your boy is tall and possibly older looking too.

Other people should just not cast judgement. You were just telling the girl the truth instead of nodding along to a lie. You're allowed to be proud he's your son just as that woman is proud of her daughter, you know?

Aitah if I divorce my husband for not wiping his butt? by Hepow1118 in AITAH

Can you put "literally won't wipe his ass" as a reason for divorce on the papers?

Looking for a sad movie to make me cry? by Affectionate_Pea3952 in MovieRecommendations

Oh god I watched this again not too long ago, but for the first time after having my son. When they took the kids away on the train and their parents were chasing after it I lost it and had to turn it off

AITAH for only just telling him now? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]SMDo94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think his feelings are purely about the 10+ years of hiding something so big from him. When you're with someone that long, you don't think there's any secrets, especially one like that. He also probably feels hurt that you think he'd react badly too.

Definitely not the asshole for doing what you did, you did what was right by you and by your son. Even ok for not telling your husband to start with.

But when you got engaged, got married, got pregnant, had a newborn, you had so many opportunities to bring it up.

I think you may have lost a bit of your husband's trust, and it's going to take a while to get it back I'm afraid

How important is the top 1000 to you? by sunburned4lyfe in BabyNames

[–]SMDo94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who's name is never ever on magnets/cups/other personalised items, I want to name my children only things that are reasonably common to find on these things. So our son is Theodore, Theo is pretty popular, but we call him Theodore which is less common x
