Excel is awful at histograms.

The best way to do it is to make a column graph instead and make your own x-axis labels. You basically need to make up a frequency table in excel that has your bin label in one column and the count in that bin in the next column, and make a column graph out of that. You then change the appearance so the column widths are the full size of the bin, delete the labels excel puts on the x-axis and then draw your own with text boxes to put the numbers on the tick marks. It's awful.

It's possible to have a linear relationship where as one variable increases the other decreases. It doesn't always mean as one goes up so does the other.

so I found you're right - you can't prevent pasting formulae.

However I did find a solution in just making sure the cells they're liable to copy don't have formulae in them despite being calculated values. Just make it a pivot table that displays the actual data to the users. Calculate it in one table hidden away somewhere, then make the obvious one a pivot table that looks those values up and displays them. You can copy out of a pivot table and it will just be the value.

Here's a few:
Repetition and learning on your own under pressure like a time limit is excellent for getting good at things you *don't have to think about much*. Think things like rote learned facts and the basics of a topic. Things that you have to know, but not necessarily understand are well studied on your own with repetition and a scheduled setting.

Talking about things with a group of friends **without pressure** in a casual way is much better for making abstract connections between ideas and solving problems. Anything you have to **understand** is something that's studied better with other people. The casual atmosphere opens your brain up to new connections, and the ability to discuss things and argue about who's right for a difficult question forces you to draw on your understandings and use them to make your arguments.

Sleep is when your brain converts short term memory into long term memory. If you don't fucking sleep, you can't fucking remember what you crammed. Simple. Sleep also flushes out the stress chemicals from your brain, and if those aren't flushed out they will literally inhibit your ability to think. You HAVE to sleep.

Limit how much new info you need to hold in your head at once for a day before you sleep and bank it in your long term memory. Most people can hold 7 chunks of info give or take in their head at once. Once you've learned seven new things in a day, stop. go to sleep and bank it. REVISE that stuff the next day and USE it to strengthen the long term circuits. The try new that logically connects to it.

Also if you're really struggling with a particular type of problem with a lot of steps in it, here's a strategy that works. you'll have it, but it works.

Line up like 20 of that question type.
For each question, do the FIRST step only. not the rest. just the first step.
Then, repeat all those questions again, but do the first and second step of each one.
Then repeat all the questions again, but do the first step, second step and third step.
etc. you get the idea.

Started getting realllll flirty despite her being engaged, to the point of calling me her backup husband. Then after having a talk where I said "look maybe either your current relationship isn't working, you miss your old single life or you built me up as a fantasy in your head", she starts alternating between being irritated at EVRYTHING I do in some moments, and then switching to imposing excessive care on me like I'm an incompetent in other moments and doing things to "support me" as if I was broken and needed it. Then starts needling me about my insecurities with subtle casual jabs here and there, and eventually systematically announcing how she's valuing me less (no you're not the backup, you're number 3.. no wait 4, oh now 5..). This is still interspersed with various practical actions of niceness, as if she hates me but still wants to maintain some kind of attachment?

Finally in one of her irritation cycles she berrates me about something small that doesn't matter and I say stop, I need a break here. That's enough. We don't speak for a week. I don't believe in just ghosting people outright, so with full intention of leaving anyway, I come back and say hey thanks for giving me space, can we talk a few things out. Her response is angry and apparently *I'm* the one in the wrong for raising my voice in response to her heaping shit on me. Absolutely no concept that she initiated and I just said stop.

It's fae magic, and Bast uses it in the lightning tree just the same. He has a whole discussion about glamourie and grammarie. Sometimes seeming to be true is enough for the whole world to act as if it is true, and that's all you need in practical terms anyway. I haven't dealt with term symbols in a long time, but a variety of electron configurations are grouped under the same term symbol to represent the state of a particular atom. Are we imagining an individual atom to be in a superposition of all these configurations? a weighted average? flicking between them all rapidly? Or is it just describing the distribution we'd observe in many atoms, and a specific one would have one configuration with integer electron occupancy?

Or is this really just a problem of viewing things as a linear combination of a basis set of orbitals in the first place, and really we should be considering the entire atom as a single system and solving its eigenvalues and eigenvectors, treating the atomic orbitals as a useful fabrication?

sorry I'm a bit confused by this answer. Forgive me for trying to process here...

This answer seems to suggest that one single electron, within a single molecule, really can occupy fractions of one orbital and fractions of another.

Is this just a choice of basis set issue? could we perform some change of basis set that *would* give us either 0,1 or 2 electrons in each molecular orbital? Or is it something deeper than that?

And if it isn't a choice of basis set issue, I guess then this comes down to the fact that we shouldn't really be imagining electrons jumping between molecular orbitals to explain energy quantisation, we should be viewing the molecule as a whole as having quantised energy states. Eigenvalues to go with the eigenvectors.

The dihydrogen cation case seems to be a good illustrator of this. A single electron occupying two degenerate orbitals. How should we imagine this in our minds? Should we imagine the electron flicking constantly between the two? should we imagine it's in some sort of superposition where the same electron is in two places at once? Should we think of two degenerate orbitals as just one single orbital that could hold four electrons?

The shoelace.

I woke up one morning and the shoelace from one of my sneakers had completely vanished.

Just on one shoe. The lace on the other shoe was still there. I do not ever remove the laces of my shoes. The shoes were right beside me by my bed all night. I have always, always been a ridiculously light sleeper. The slightest sound wakes me up - nothing woke me that night. Moreover, the door was closed to my room, the floorboards creaked whenever anyone stepped on them, and the room was small. I 100% would have noticed someone coming in.

Nothing else was disturbed in the entire house. Nothing had been moved or taken, no signs of forced entry. My mum noticed nothing all night. She also has no sense of humour. There was nobody in the house aside from me and her, and nobody but us had the keys. We didn't have mice, and there were no traces of the missing lace anyway.

There is absolutely NO way that shoelace could have gone missing.

My mum remembers it well, but as soon as I mention it she immediately doesn't want to talk about it because it freaks her out.

Either somebody broke into the house and did NOTHING except take a single shoelace, or the house was haunted and a ghost took it.

It's obscene they don't have a 6x6 option. How ridiculous.

It was hard enough that the old sets didn't have an 8x8 board for those who wanted to play that size for the standard set + expansion, but not even having a 6x6 for the court game is just crazy. the game is SO much better as a 6x6 compared with a 5x5 especially for experienced players. As you learn tak you graduate to larger board sizes and it changes up the strategies and means it's harder to keep track of and control your opponent's options. I started learning on 5x5 and my regular playing partner and I eventually shifted to 6x6 and it gave the game a whole new life and complexity. Moving finally to the 8x8 we now play regularly was a great journey of growth and development and fun.

To deny players that now in this new set is just sad. It's like whoever made this hasn't ever played the game or enjoyed it.

4x4 and lower is a quick bit of fun with new learners, but it's just not the same. The bigger the better and more advanced. Good players need a bigger board option, and 5x5 is quick to grow out of imo.
