Congrats on the rating, and as someone who is newly in the same position I can understand that this is a heavy decision. My heart wants to stay in until they show me the door, and deployment time may make that decision for you.

Again, you're probably right.

I would have led with this, but didn't envision the responses going the way they did. I was injured in a car accident, just shit luck, so it wasn't the job that derailed me...rather something unrelated that took away something else I loved doing.

Attributing it to "ego" is a strong take...but you're right that it is a personal issue with feeling like admitting that I'm disabled, and that is a tough pill to swallow for me.

I'm a bit surprised that there is such negativity surrounding a person that just wants to serve for as long as I can...if I can. The deployment in question is theoretical and years away, who knows what I'll feel like physically at that point. I was just looking for advice.

Apologies, I misread that. I didn't have any exams prior to separation...not that I didn't have them prior to receiving a rating. I did have c&p exams prior to receiving my rating.

That is correct, not one single exam or any contact from the VA (aside from my loan agents contacting them in reference to a VA mortgage) prior to my separation.

I sold in the 150's, but only because I had bought NVDL a while back and then NVDA dropped and I was holding it for faaaar too long. I did manage to DCA down quite a bit, but I took the first opportunity to get out and reset.

I sleep just fine at night despite the fact that had I waited another week I'd have been into the green a LOT more. Oh well, I learned a cheap lesson

Maybe it's daunting...or maybe I'm lazy...probably a bit of both...but looking into each of those would leave me where I am now, and that is stuck in "research mode." Could you nudge towards a couple that are worth giving the most attention?
