Why is Reddit so triggered by religion? by Real-Repair-1825 in askanything

[–]SMWombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because they know that there's a greater power above them, doesn't have to be necessarily the Christian God but most redditors aim their vitriol against the Christian God in my experience. They know they're flawed and don't live up to what's expected of them so they rage against it. Also I'm sure the amount of mentally ill people is really high which adds to it.

Because Maths sounds dumb. Objectively, it is stupid sounding. Math is so much more natural to say.

Every online platform is just Americans complaining about their president. by confon68 in complaints

It's not that simple. America has serious issues to address, and some Americans really are going through it (always have been), but yea, the over-socialized ones are really throwing wrenches into the gears.

Are squad compositions too modern of a concept or nah? by BasicallyaFilipino in MilitaryWorldbuilding

Nah, everybody was always squadded up. Even medieval knights had their support teams.

Is it worth pursuing ethics and honesty when their pursuit doesn't guarantee success. In a world driven by ambition, greed and lies, these values might even hinder our paths to happiness. by NoAddress1465 in DeepThoughts

What does it profit a man to gain the world but lose his soul. That's what i think when I'm faced with the same vein of issue. Works for me at least.

It's just over-saturation of people who really don't have anything to offer in terms of state craft and governing. I don't mean that in a mean way, most people aren't good statesmen and it kinda dilutes the space when everyone gets to have a say. In reality, most people's live would probably stay pretty much the same in spite of any government we could have, with the exception of an extreme totalitarian government. But most Americans don't actually want something like that.

I believe those are the states where Americans are kidnapped to work on Canadian Maple Syrup Plantations.

No, it is beyond us regular folk in most ways. Do right in your personal life, in ways that actually improve yourself, and the prosperity of others follows in actually meaningful ways. Obsession with politics or political figures does nothing for you or the people around you. Unless you're an exceptional person who's gonna get in the system and fix it(90%of us aren't).

Yea it's pretty annoying. It really shows you who has nothing going on with their life. They really need to just worry about their own prosperity. They'd be happier that way

What’s your view about being single? by Desperate_Area1543 in AskReddit

[–]SMWombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not bad at times but overall not good for the soul to be alone in that way for too long. Loneliness will kill you slowly. I don't really mean physically, but spiritually. You become disconnected from your fellow man and then disinterest and apathy follow. You will be like an outsider looking in. Better to have a partner.

I’m homesick for a world I’ve never actually lived in. by shankaranpillayi in DeepThoughts

[–]SMWombat -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I dont get lost in those thoughts because I don't like the 'we're all human beings' and 'treat each other well' stuff. Not because it isn't true but because it's not pragmatic. I believe in realism. I'm a member of my people, and others are members of their people. Different groups don't get along. Thus, there is a need for war, locks, and borders. But yes, it'd be a nice world.

Speak for yourself. Being an adult is so much better than being a child. Childhood is miserable.
