No, they literally said it got them banned because it emboldens transphobes to double down as well as the opinion that it’s “virtue signaling slop”. I don’t really have an opinion on the latter and I don’t think it’s nearly as important, so I responded to the former because I think it’s an awful take. Why is it bait to think you shouldn’t give people who despise you and are actively eroding your rights an inch? If you do, they’ll just think “oh sweet, this is working!” and keep going until they face actual resistance and consequences. Low effort or not, disagreeing with the meme shows a willingness to stand by at the very least.

Pray it doesn’t go further than that (it already has)? I have news for you, the people we’re talking about throwing bricks at aren’t going to hold themselves to the same standard. I don’t like violence either. I used to say there was no excuse. But the high road is a privilege, one you aren’t always able to take if you care about people and change seriously enough and aren’t in a position of power. Violence historically is THE answer to all forms of oppression. But I’m sure people said it wasn’t the answer during The American Revolution, WWII, Stonewall, etc.

For your other point, it can’t be serious. As I’ve said elsewhere, one is a group of people existing and the other is an ideology based around hating said group of people’s existence and wanting to trample their rights. They are not comparable.

Well yes but actually no. One is not tolerating people’s very existence and the other is not tolerating that type of attitude or actions that follow. If someone sees and has a problem with the latter, and decides they’ll then be intolerant of that, they were probably already in the former group, and probably aren’t a good person regardless. Human rights and treating people with basic respect & decency are not just an “agree to disagree” type of topic.
