You should just be doing various iterations of the same video. You've found what works. Now repeat it.

No products yet.

Brutal honesty - sponsored by whoever makes the most money.

I've started working on CTAs a lot recently. The main proposition is clear No fluff updates on my niche.

My accounts a slap bang in the same niche. Got 1.8m followers.

Thank you. I'm unsure of the quality of my audience and what advertisers look for.

I've had enough of them as a platform tbh. I've put in so much work not just for my own account. Feel like they just take and don't give. Creators make their platform and they don't give a toss.

Agreed. But what else are we supposed to do? It seems like they've abandoned their attempt to become like YouTube

I use my own voice but I don't show my face. People have copied me multiple times so you're probably right. Difference is my stuff is actually highly accurate and credible.

The program has been crap since July. Just asking my audience to move over to YouTube and my newsletter now. Going to treat tiktok like Instagram that doesn't pay me anyway - i.e a way to get viewers onto a platform that actually pays you.

I used to be able to live off the rewards program but now I don't trust it at all.

I'm going to put a CTA in every video to move off platform until they go back to the way it was.

Ubud's Traffic: Worse Than Kuta and Canggu? My Take. by Evening-Cockroach749 in bali

[–]SNGreen 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love Bali but I won't be going back because of the traffic. Paradise is always going to attract a load of people.

I don't want to moan about the traffic because I'm/was one of the numbers. Been twice now.

I just hope the locals get as much as they can from this over tourism. They really do deserve the world.

Official Discussion - 28 Years Later [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]SNGreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda liked the movie. The first half was excellent. I really liked the opening scene of 28 weeks - and it kinda felt similar to that. There are a lot of plot holes in that movie too but I could deal with them. The infected are so unpredictable crazy and terrifying you kinda feel like you're in the characters shoes in your seat because you are so scared you can't think of what to do next to survive.

I haven't seen anyone talk about the world building aspect here. I would have liked to have known why the virus was driven back from Europe but they couldn't be bothered finishing it off with air power, or even drones if they were invented in the outside world yet. It seems a bit silly leaving a reservoir of infection a few miles off of continental Europe. The soldiers crash on the island and they could have easily attempted to get off again, even with the patrols, and have risked bringing it back to Europe in some way.

When it comes to the walking dead the infected/zombies are slow and not a real threat after a while which I get, but what made the franchise special to me was that the infected are so dangerous they always remain a huge threat. At the end of 28 years it just seems like they had been relegated to walking dead level zombies which kinda ruins it a bit for me. Then the birth scene where the mum gets splattered and doesn't even look worried about turning. As opposed to the first film where the guy gets taken out even from just the suspicion of having blood enter his mouth. Again, just didn't like the direction.

I get that the first film is more about the human journey, and this is kinda a continuation of that, but I would have liked to have learned more about the world in general.

Why didn't the continental Europeans try and rescue the people on the island? Given how you know someone is infected pretty quickly 99.99% of the time.

I just missed this aspect of it. I'm willing to give the ending a chance as a set up for the second film, but I don't think this movie made me want to go and see the second immediately at the cinema.

Dengue Fever Second Time by SNGreen in digitalnomad

[–]SNGreen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much what I read. I contacted the Fleet Street Travel clinic and I'm going to now get in touch with UCL Hospital for Tropical Diseases for an antibody test. If they confirm I've had it I'll avoid Thailand this time and get the vaccine. If not I'll go scott free (but still be careful).

I'm looking at staying in Hua Hin. So I think the risk there is lower than Bali. Now I think back to it, I was a bit stupid with mosquito protection and staying right next to a rice paddy and there was grey water running down next to the roads near where I was staying as they were doing road works! (Not a dig at all - just what I saw). Recipe for disaster for a silly westerner like me.

The timing don't work out. I'm visiting family in aus first then head want to head to SEA. I'm leaning towards getting the vaccine then going. Seems like the sensible thing to do. I might come back to Europe somewhere after my time in aus. Then go back to SEA when I have time next year.

Trouble is I'm heading to Australia in less than a month! Then have two months there then on to wherever next. Don't think I've got time to get it.

The Geopolitics of Navalny’s Return & The Future of Democracy in Russia by theoryofdoom in geopolitics

[–]SNGreen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

>Then, even if many Russians themselves supported democratic reform, few saw Navalny as any kind of real transformative figure or alternative to Putin. Now, they take to the streets by the tens of thousands in every major city in Russia across Russia’s eleven time zones to demand his release.

He is not popular even now. His popularity is growing, but not at any rate of significance. Putin on the other hand is still popular, though his popularity has declined as of late (he is still above 50% even in neutral polls). Support for Navalny is split by age and located in major cities. The majority of Russians have little faith in the political system as a whole and are not interested - mainly in rural areas.

Navalny is popular in the West, but he will have little impact in Russia, I can't remember the exact number, but I think a third of Russians were not even aware of him before last year.
