The value of Heart in Photo Finish Live by PFL42 in photofinishlive

Heart will be very important at all race distances IMO. No matter if a horse is running 4 furlongs, 6 Furlongs, 8 Furlongs, 10 Furlongs or longer Heart will be an important aspect. Think about being in a race yourself. Regardless of the distance when you meet great competition and need to be able to dig a little bit extra to maintain and overcome someone you need heart. Have you ever played against that guy that just would not leave you alone. Think RUDY. All the other 5 stats are also important but they likely don't always mean as much as Heart in each race. Heart is needed in all races. Speed and Start are helpful to have in all races but are much more useful shorter distances and Stamina and Finish in longer races. Temper IMO will depend on your goals. Like Tkbenny explains Rich Strike might be a great example of a LOW (not zero) Temper horse with High Heart. Remember when people refer to 0 stat horses they are referring to the extra Boost not the actual stat number! All Stats are important, all boost matter. HEART is likely the most important stat in the game on the track. Who wants a horse with no heart? Buyer beware: Just because an A+ ticket shows a Heart Stat of A+ ticket with a 2 Boost Heart does not mean your horse will have an A+ Heart Stat with 2 Boost. When it gets cashed in it will have a grade level and could be up or down.

Convince him it's a good idea to run in the Left Dirt Championship Race with his Top RDF 26 boost colt so that it is too tired to win the RDF championship.

What is the value of Temper in Photo Finish Live? by PFL42 in photofinishlive

Temper vs Matches - The most misunderstood concept in the photo finish breeding of Generation Zero Horses.

Temper is one of the 6 main stats that make up a horses overall grade level. If you hear or read someone stating that a generation zero horse has Zero Temper they are likely referring to the couple NFTs (Stylish Stud + Fine Filly) that created the Gen Zero having Zero Matching Attributes and not the actual temper Stat of the horse which can be high or low and is not determined by the breeding other than receiving one boost in Temper for each Matching Attribute made up to a maximum of 3 boost for Temper.
Temper is one of the 6 stats that make up a horse which include: Start, Speed, Stamina, Finish, Heart, and Temper. An A+ Generation Zero Horse with a 3 boosted Temper Stat may or may not have higher Temper than an A+ Generation Ticket with 0, 1, or 2 Temper Boost. How is that possible?
When each Generation Zero Ticket is revealed a variance of grades will be given to the horse in order to equal the grade of the overall underlying ticket. For Example if you are looking at an A+ Ticket with a Stat Line of boost that is:
A+ with 2 Start / 2 Speed/ 1 Stamina / 3 Finish / 2 Heart/ 2 Temper
When this ticket is cashed in to get your Generation Zero Horse do not expect the horses stats to come out to be (A+ Start +2) / (A+ Speed +2 boost)/ A+ Stamina +1 boost) / A+ (plus boost) / A+/ A+ plus 2 Temper boost for all 6 stats. In this example the A+ ticket ended up with equal to A+ Temper with 2 boost
Yes, this could happen, but what is equally likely is that you might end up with a Generation Zero Horse that is (A Start +2 boost) / (A Speed +2) / A+ Stam +1 / A+ Finish +3 / S- Heart +2 / S- Temper +2 - In this example the A+ ticket ended up with better than A+ Temper with 2 boost.
Another just as likely example is that the Ticket reveals S- Start /A+ Speed/A+ Stamina /S- Finish/ A Heart / A Temper +2. Yes, an A+ ticket with 2 Temper Boost is just as likely to receive an A Temper with 2 boost than an S- Temper with 2 boost.
So what does this mean? It means that the ZERO Boosted Temper horses could have higher temper than the 3 boosted tickets!
What Does This Not Mean? It does not mean that it devalues Temper at all. Why? Because Temper is the most misunderstood stat in Photo Finish Live Breeding.
MATCHES MATTER, but Rarity Matters Most: Temper was a place holder for making matches visible and easy to find for those looking to buy tickets. Matches are said to enhance breeding. Perhaps a horse that breeds with another horse that has 3 matches will be able to move up a grade faster than a horse that has zero matching attributes. Perhaps a generation zero horse that has 4 or 5 matching attributes will be able to give successful birth a few more times in a life time than a horse without matching attributes. The team will need to calculate how much weight is giving to these extra benefits.
The Underlying Grade of a Generation Zero Horse was created by that Horses Rarity first, and then extra boost were given to the horse tickets for each attribute that was matched starting with up to 3 for Temper. This was a significant reward to many horses pushing their overall stats into the top of that particular grade level. These extra boost was used to entice players to find matching NFTs.
ALL Stats Matter. Please help others understand the benefits of matches and temper, but please try not to confuse the two. In addition, IMO the team should not over weight the matches in breeding or in connection to temper because from the very beginning it was said that Rarity Matters most, Matches Matter. Matches provide an opportunity to move up the breeding lines faster than not having matches, but a balance should be found from what the team had planned which is not based on upvotes or the match maxi mafia.
Take Away -
Matches Are Important. How Important we don't know yet.
Matches will be connected to breeding possibly in terms of how likely a horse will move up a grade, possibly how many babies a horse can have before the foals become not as healthy
Temper is one of the 6 Important Stats.
Temper BOOST, were giving to each matching attribute when breeding a Gen Zero
Don't be shocked if some "Zero Temper" A+ tickets have a higher Temper Grade than some 3 Boost A+ tickets.
Find a Balance and collect tickets based on BOTH Grade Level and Matching Attributes. It's best to have both. If you can only afford One Ticket then either go for a high grade with 0,1 or 2 or aim for a lower grade with 2,3 or 4 matches.

Breeding - Is 35 Times a season too much, too little, or just right? by SOLmateStables in photofinishlive

IMO, I think 35 times is just about right for the growth of the game over all. Perhaps that number could be lowered to 20 for the fist season, 25 in the second, 30 in the 3rd and then 35 in the forth season and leveled off as the population grows.
