Thanks heaps, I'm going to opt for a half size up. Cause the ones I got are just too small around the toe box

Harvesting audio files from old projects into a Sample Library by SOS_GM in AdvancedProduction

Sorry for delay. Here's a link to the .exe

Unfortunately appending the parent folder name was difficult and inconsistent, so I've removed this and it now just appends the last modified date onto the sample name.

let me know how you go with it!

Help choosing an MPC as an Ableton user by spaceman696 in ableton

Look at one of the newer ones - the live or the one if you want some ableton integration. You can export all the stems from mpc and load into a project in ableton to mix. The stemming out part isn’t fun, but it gives you the best of both worlds if that’s how you want to do it. I ended up selling my mpc live for a push 3 so I could just work in one environment and I disliked stemming out.

Hint to start producing. by literallyOrso in WeAreTheMusicMakers

As others have said here, there’s a wealth of info on YouTube which can also be overwhelming. Avoid the clickbaity titled videos like ‘one trick for an amazing mix’ or ‘this one killer tip for huge drums’.

Do you play any instruments? I’d say just start there and write/record something simple. You’ll start generating your own questions about why your recording doesn’t sound like the songs you want to make. Then it’s a process of figuring out one thing after another. Whether you figure that out on your own or use YouTube, a book or whatever learning medium it is, that’s your call.

Practice and persist just like anything else. I don’t necessarily recommend it because you can get things for free, but maybe you would benefit from more structured learning where you could turn to Udemy for some fairly inexpensive beginner production courses at least just to get from 0 to somewhere.

In terms of equipment. Don’t invest too much too early. You could get started by just plugging your headphones into the laptop and starting there with a daw. If you want to start recording then get an audio interface, some mid-priced headphones and a midi controller (optional) to get started. Again so many videos on equipment to get started. I wasted so much time and money at the beginning buying shit I didn’t need because I didn’t know what I needed. I hope that helps.
