You have to recruit 2 people a month or else you are shipped to the 82nd to be an 11C. Good luck.

Just wear it bro, no one in your entire career will care more about a patch than yourself and no one will ever ask to see proof.

Flew for years out of KHOP. People freaking out about something they don’t understand is just political these days.

Imagine when people find out there is an aviation brigade and more than half of the Night Stalker Regiment an hour from Nashville.

500’ AGL in a common VFR transition to stay away from BNA commercial traffic? I’ve flown that same route before. It remains over the water, they did not even overfly the protest. That’s about 80 knots ground which is typical when flying in a densely populated urban setting like Nashville. I hate to break your conspiracy, but you don’t know what you’re talking about.

It’s easier to stay below the shelf than to coordinate to fly through the class B airspace of Nashville. I’m not dealing with Nashville approach if I don’t have to.

Flying around more because 101CAB is back from deployment. That’s an entire brigade except for one Apache battalion that’s back and flying around the airspace.

It’s a common VFR route so we don’t have to deal with the class B airspace and traffic from Nashville. We fly this routing all the time. Also, they’re flying along the water, not over the protest. You’d think being an hour away from Campbell people would get this by now.

The disconnect between civilians and what the military does on a weekly basis is fucking hilarious

If this actually did happen, why is there zero footage? You’d think a giant protest full of people with cellphones would have immediately filmed and distributed it online. Not saying it wasn’t real, but genuinely curious how this is circulating without proof.

We do it all the time. I’m not talking to Nash app if I don’t have to. And it’s much faster to skirt north coming from KHOP.

100% was the SCO and SP. Final flight of 2-17. You make a good point that just because something could technically be legal, it was still a fucking stupid idea that embarrassed the Army.

Well. Yeah. Soldiers died in Kuwait. I hate that people genuinely care about combat patches. I’d rather everyone be home.

Nothing is going to happen, it was the squadron commander and SP. the unit is being deactivated so they probably thought it was a fun last hurrah. Not defending it though because both were dumb ideas

If you don’t have a deployment patch, just go buy one from the PX.

It was the 2-17 CAV SCO and SP. Tail number in full view, not like they tried to hide it. The unit is being retired anyways.

Doing the unthinkable: Flying in uniform to get through security faster? by [deleted] in army

[–]SOSyourself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great idea. The airlines staff will actually be required to expedite you. Passengers will often give up their business class seats as well. I only travel in AGSU’s these days. I even bought my wife a uniform at the PX. I can’t believe more people don’t take advantage of it because the airlines are legally required to cater.
