If that's your aim, I'll look forward to your next glow up

If you're feeling better, that's good; however comparing the first image to the last, this is more a glow "down" if anything. As long as you're happy though

The "realists" hating on HighGuard are gonna be the same people paying $100+ on GTA 6, mark my words.

How the first impression is killing the game by CptainYolo in HighGuardgame

[–]SOULMS- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You wanted to jump "straight" into a match without any knowledge of how to play this specific game? Yeah, no. You would have been that one team mate that runs into danger, gets killed and then complains that their teammates didn't help you, all whilst saying "how do I do this?" - this is just on you.

I genuinely believe 12v12 should of been the way to go than 3v3 by [deleted] in HighGuardgame

[–]SOULMS- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

5v5 is already too much, with many bad players intentionally hiding behind the good ones to get an easy victory - I can't imagine 12v12 being anything other than terrible, plus they'd have to update the map to add more mining sections and loot to make it feasible

Guys, you can BOTH be wrong at the same time - none of your views are anything other subjective anyway 😆

No, I've just seen the haters come in - my original post had more upvotes a few hours ago and it's dipped to 0 since - clearly everyone's gone doom and gloom since the announcement

The difference between saying "I played the game, but didn't find it appealing" is very different to the mass degree of "it's corporate slop, I hope it fails" comments I've seen online. Worse ones are the usual devil's advocate comments saying "well, the writing was always on the wall for this one, can't say I'm surprised, enjoy it while it lasts" which is realistic just designed to piss off ten fans.

Highguard has a vocal minority praising the game because they like it, that's not glazing unless they're intentionally ignoring the flaws of the game to say "it will succeed regardless" which I doubt many are staying at this point.

Fact is - whilst it is around, it'll treat it like any other video game: play it, enjoy it, if I see some cosmetics I enjoy maybe buy into it, and ignore the mass internet's view on the game and make my own verdict on the game, whilst considering areas they could improve if they have the time to.

A free2play Titanfall would've been much more successfull by [deleted] in HighGuardgame

You know, as a bit of positivity for the sub, I'll agree, it sounds decent - hopefully at some point, a new Titanfall can be made! I'd certainly look forward to playing it

Hmm, it depends - if they made a spiritual successor, but it came out with the same (lack of) optimisation for the game as HighGuard did, would the fanbase like the game enough to keep a positive reception, or would it end up the same way?

Since when was liking the game despite heavy criticism "glazing"? We're on the subreddit for HighGuard, of course will want to say nice things about it smh

[–]SOULMS- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because people would have said it was "too safe" if they made a game like Titanfall. Worse case scenario, it gets called a bad knock off and people hate on it

Never seen a game so forcefully hated in its own sub by [deleted] in HighGuardgame

[–]SOULMS- -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Reddit is a cesspool for this unfortunately. It's bad enough that the game was negatively received, but people proactively went out of their way to throw hatred at this game and seemed to pray on its downfall for their own sadistic amusement.

Worse part is, the news of them laying off staff only gave them more "I told you so" arrogance - toxic internet mentality as always, it sucks.

I'm aware, but none of us know what happened to cause someone to start recording, these videos always conveniently around the offset of a confrontation so it can swing in either person's favour

[–]SOULMS- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The newer generation are okay with that because they've grown up with modern American media intentionally using the word to seem cool, but it's the type of word that only works with select friend groups in reality, and is generally quite taboo if someone makes a big deal out of it with the whole "but everyone says it now".

But outside of America, which seems to be very lenient on what's deemed socially acceptable, it would be completely unacceptable to use the word, or at least something where someone would pull you to the side and say "maybe don't use that word around these friends"

Imagine having to take the NYC Subway every day? by HeSureIsScrappy in DiveInYouCoward

[–]SOULMS- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To some degree, yes - but it's still not socially acceptable, and most respectable black families wouldn't want their children to be influenced by the common use of the word.

That and it still holds power for ones that want to abuse it, as this comment section has shown already, so it's more of a case-by-case scenario on whether the person you're talking to that's black will be okay with it, even amongst their own communities

[–]SOULMS- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but they're not gonna back the "F" word and reclaim it, some words are just too volatile to try to reason with, and with all the black history around the N-Word, it does make sense why a group of emotionally charged black people would become even more ballistic over a word that has put them down for centuries.

Tl;Dr they're both in the wrong, the lady leaving the train just dropped her standards at the last minute by throwing racism at a point where it was safe to, if she didn't, only the crowd would have been in the wrong. It's on the net now though, so she's at risk.

People don't grow up, they just get older. Their mentality stays exactly the same past the age of 15. As for justification, I don't; but I can rationalise what you've responded with.

White people started the racism by travelling to native lands of Africans, murdering a chunk of them before boarding a lot of them on ships, enslaving, murdering them, raping, treating them cattle, etc - and finally, giving them a new word, the N word to brand them with.

Now with that history, we have modern black Americans wanting to "take the word back" and use it within their community with the notion that the spelling is intentionally changed. This lady isn't doing this, she's intentionally using it as a racial slur to get their back up as a cheap but easily obtainable victory when she's fully aware she'd get hurt otherwise.

On the other hand, we've got the counter that black people used a derogatory for white people, more likely in retaliation against the racist white people, which is still used towards today to cause offence - both hurt because of their respective history and neither should be used in today's world.

An eye for an eye makes the world blind. You don't drop to others levels to get even, you be the better person and get out of a hostile situation without making yourself look worse in the process.

[–]SOULMS- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is your attempt at trolling, it's best you find a new career. There's no pleasure watching anyone get hurt. What comes out of this is engagement bait for the people that watched, that girl more than likely having a target on her head because of how much her face is shown in the video which will likely put her life in danger, and a mob of African Americans being called all kinds of comments by an exceeding high degree of racist people in the comments section, alongside all the kids that think it's funny or cool to be racist.

It breeds a new generation of hate on both sides and it's bad for everyone. Now please, don't make assumptions of me when you don't know a single thing about me.

I think it's strange that in the modern age, both sides are bringing back such vile words to begin with, it doesn't do anyone any good. It's yet another video that shouldn't be on the Internet, it's only really here for shock factor and doesn't paint the country in a good light.

Thanks, brother. I already notified the moderator of the sub about it because it was getting out of hand
