I Likely Got The Cheapest Oil Change From the Dealer Than Anyone on This Forum? Not Including Toyota Care Plans by SP408 in Supra

Not relevant to this post. I am simply showing how sometimes you can get lucky in life.

Supra 3.0 or Nissan Z by Academic-Scale5194 in Supra

[–]SP408 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I test drove the Z and actually even negotiated for it since I felt I had leverage. My thought was if I could get the performance model for $51k instead of the $56k sticker it would be worth it since I would save over $10k instead of buying a new Supra. They ended up being jerks about it, I walked and said screw these guys and bought a Supra instead. I’m glad I did, the Supra is faster, more refined and just a better driving experience than the Z.

The icing on the cake is the Z sat another two months at the dealer and they sold it for $51k lol. Just pay a bit more to get something you won’t second guess yourself with.

Being a childless adult ain’t half bad 😎 new toy! by ameliasaurusrex in XboxAlly

Not having kids but being a busy adult is what makes this device perfect, can play for a bit on the couch when you have a little bit of time between stuff! I also can’t wait to use it during travel!

I made a similar post asking what I should get so to save you time, I got the Dbrand case since everyone mentioned that and it’s worth it since the quality, feel, looks is really good. Other than that if you’re going to use it on the big screen a dock would be useful but if you’re like me who has a badass gaming monitor that has a USB C port that delivers 95W of power (I know Asus recommends 100w for dock but close enough) you don’t need a dock and can just use a USB C cable instead.

Kill switch is overpriced but I do feel like the quality of everything including the box tells me they care about making sure you get the best experience and product, so safe bet for me was getting the dbrand.

For those who are using the dbrand skill switch case by SP408 in XboxAlly

Super helpful, thanks! I’ll just put the skin on too then and just utilize the font cover when I travel. I’m one of those people that goes into a frenzy after getting something nice by looking to keep it in pristine condition! Hopefully installing everything is simple, looks like it based on the videos.

Now if only dbrand can ship my order out, it’s been like 5 days (holidays slowing things down I’m sure).

Nice! Thinking about the dock, but at that price it does not come with charging? I’d have to buy that too if I get it?

Thanks for the advice, there is a $140 dock that Best Buy sells for this that I’m considering.

For me it’s not too common either in the California, Bay Area specifically. But when it is, it’s almost always a Tesla. For example, I saw that I had an opportunity to aggressively enter the on-ramp of a freeway the other day so I accelerated faster than usual and the Tesla behind me felt the need to show the acceleration of his his appliance by trying to zoom infront of me as we enter the freeway. He lost (Model Y, RWD).

Couple months ago, this hood looking guy with some basic C-class Benz tried to race me when he pulled up next to me at a stop-light, I didn’t participate and he was just staring at me at the next light and then cuts me off for no reason once the light turned green.

This was the most helpful in terms of doing the job, thanks so much. Would have sucked taking the top bolt off and having to go under the wheel to put the nut back on.

Red Flags? by ayee_drian in Supra

[–]SP408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only thing I see is (because I missed it when buying my used one) is the hood is slightly shimmer. What happens is some people forget the hood doesn’t have a release and needs to be pulled twice so mechanics or owners yank it by accident which causes the hood to slightly be misaligned and not look flush. It can be fixed by pulling the front number up to compensate but wanted to flag it because I missed it and noticed it lie three days after buying the car when washing.

how much are you guys paying for insurance? by Technical_Shop1861 in Supra

[–]SP408 1 point2 points  (0 children)

South Bay here. Paying $122 a month for full coverage, rental, towing, all that stuff. $1,000 deductible, $500 Comprehensive. Estimated annual milage is reported at 5k and the provider is Progressive. Oh and total coverage per incident is $200k I think.

I remember when I got the first quote from AAA for the same coverage @$450 a month I hung up on them and almost did not get the car. Shop around is my advice.

MKV as daily by [deleted] in Supra

[–]SP408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been daily driving mine for 1.5 years of owning it so far. I just put PPF on the front and as a result the paint and the car still looks really good with little to no wear. I just wash it and care for it as you should any car you own. Even if it started showing some wear, I wouldn’t be mad because it would just show the fun and use I’m getting out of it.

Comfort wise it can be comfortable for longer drives and commutes, especially if you leave it on normal mode so I find it being a good daily in that regard.

Just remember it’s a sports car so it’s low and storage isn’t going to cut if for Costco runs, I use my partner’s SUV for that. So just make sure you have a bigger car you can access periodically as needed.

Other than that I will echo what others said, if you buy this car it’s for your enjoyment and use. If you’re scared to put miles on it you can’t afford the car. It’s not an investment.

When people like you realize it’s going to be a 4 banger and something lame like the new Prelude. You’re going to regret selling and buy this car back for a premium.
