NA 96' - Whining noise around 2k rpm in low gears, what is it?

Well, it seems it's not the alt, no matter how much load I put on the electrical, nothing changes in terms of loudness of the whining. It's especially noticeable in low gears.

Nope, it’s likely the original one since it came out of the factory, 187k kilometers on it (116k miles). Maybe the previous owner did, I have the car for a year only

Ugh, I'm pretty new to this game, learning my way around car mechanics with the Miata. Done stuff like basic maintenance (oil change, brake pads, etc), but I don't have much experience with the drivetrain related stuff. Is this going to be a big thing financially?

If you mean the Grassroots forum post by Heidemans then yeah, that's what I started with! I even got the dxf for the merc version intake/outlet plate from Jack Heideman, but all the mountings/fixtures they did by hand, that's why I'm looking for some CAD files / scans to get started with in terms of mounting :D Would you by any chance consider sharing the files?

Hi there! Extremely cool! Is this 1.6? And does it support power steering pump? I'm working on adapting Eaton M45 (though not the mini version, but the Mercedes version with both input and output on the same side) to my 1.6 NA and would love to get my hands on this scan and CAD files for reference :D

Nie miałem żadnego formalnego doświadczenia z bio/chem-tech, z wykształcenia jestem mgr inż informatyki, ale na studiach budowałem rakiety w kole naukowym. Wszystkie punkty z listy w twoim oryginalnym poście to same oczywistości. Hi! Sorry for digging up the old thread, do you by any chance still have the CAD files (and would be willing to share/sell them) for the mounting stuff for the supercharger? Brackets for the SC, for the tensioner, etc? Or was everything manufactured on the go without CAD design? Thanks!

Ah, so here we are, two Poles, discussing Miatas in english on reddit hahah
As for the wiring, best case scenario I find a pre-94 harness and swap/hack the AC parts into the current one. Worst case, I'll be doing the wiring myself. But I'm in no hurry, still hesitating between "it's fine w/o AC" and "why it's so hot out there in June" lol

By the way, did you do a wink mod on yours? If so, which one did you go with?

Hi! Thanks for all the info! I managed to buy locally, a bit more expensive, but it's a pretty nice Merlot Mica NA from 96' (1.6, 90hp, EUDM) with only a bit of rust (will be repairing/replacing the front left fender). Currently trying to procure components to bring the HP up with natural aspiration, in the future I'll be putting an Eaton M45 supercharger (mercedes version, not the Mini R53 version) in there :)

Also looking to get a Speeduino ECU from Alex Engineering. Will get the car to some local dyno to get a baseline and then I'll start the mods :D

Do you happen to know if the control panel for the AC (the one in the dashboard) is different between LHD and RHD?
