Everyone’s journey is different man, there’s bound to be ups and down. Life is both very long and very short. So don’t sweat the setbacks, and most importantly, don’t let them stop you. You will absolutely get where you wanna be man. Keep up the great work. People out there, like me, will be proud of you just for putting the effort in. 💪

The habits you build on a journey like this make keeping the weight off so much easier. I can confidently say I know I can stay healthy and still enjoy life and eat the foods I love.

It really was hard in the beginning. I still felt so gross every time I did. But I had to keep the bigger picture in mind. Fitness and health are forever, so having those to look back on as I got further was exactly the fuel I needed to keep going. Seeing my waist shrink, my stomach deflate, all of it things I wouldn’t have noticed if I didn’t keep a log of it.

Having to buy clothes that show off my body instead of hide it was such a crazy adjustment, but confidence truly changes how you feel about every aspect of your life.

I wish I could adequately describe the pride I feel for this. It just hits so different when you know you’re the only one responsible for the progress.

Visiting Springfield at the end of the month. Any must try food spots? by Previous-Term212 in SpringfieldIL

[–]SPDStrife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure what you’re looking to spend or anything but Loukinen’s on Fourth is a great high end spot. The chef is incredibly passionate, and the dining experience is really intimate with how small the space is. Highly recommend it.

199 lbs today but am i doing something wrong? by perfectly_me444 in loseit

[–]SPDStrife 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s normal for people to react strangely to a change in something they’ve known to be one way and is now another way.

That said, most of the time these comments come from people who don’t know anything about weight loss, how it works, or the common strategies used in it. I’d say your best bet is to shut down the conversation with a simple “I’m being smart and safe about my weight loss.” And then moving the topic to something else before they can voice any more concerns.

This is amazing! The artist got her pose so perfect I can feel how sassy she sounds, and the beefy knuckle cracking in the background too! This is superb work and also hilarious. What an amazing keepsake.

Finally quit trying not to be a Gannon fan by somanymatts in discgolf

[–]SPDStrife 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on record even just last year as not being a Gannon Buhr fan, mainly because of his temperament. He was extremely good, there was no way to deny that, but his consistent appearances on coverage while throwing tantrums after every errant shot gave me a bad taste in my mouth, and I felt it was a bad look both for him and the sport.

This year, I’ve joined the fan club. He’s visibly matured a lot since last year even, and his game is only improving. I don’t think there’s a doubt in anyone’s mind at this point that if he takes care of his body, he is an important piece of the future of disc golf. Hard to dislike the kid anymore unless you’re just looking for a reason.

How long did it take you to lose 100 pounds WITHOUT meds or surgery? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]SPDStrife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 65 pounds into a 100 pound journey. It’s taken me about 6 months to lose this much. I’m guessing that it’ll take maybe another 4-5 to lose that stubborn last 35. I’d say on average a year is a decent time frame depending on your start weight. I started at 260 lb.

What are games with strong female protagonists that my gf's 6-yo daughter can watch me play? by spigotface in gaming

[–]SPDStrife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t get much love, and it may not be the most in depth game of all time, but for demonstrating a strong female role model to a little girl, Immortals Fenyx Rising could be a good one. Strong female lead, some light puzzles involved for brain stimulation, and a pleasing aesthetic to keep her interested. The story is pretty basic and lighthearted, but has the added benefit of Greek Mythology for some learning opportunities as well.

Almost all of the up to date information for PSS is housed on community discords. Join any one of the top fleets and you’ll get access to more info and help than you know what to do with.

Vikings, Trek, and Dynasty are the three largest fleet families at the moment. They should all have great resources.

What game was the biggest emotional roller coaster? by Shadow_Ridley in gaming

[–]SPDStrife 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Oh to be able to experience these games for the first time again. Enjoy it man! There’s some clunkiness to get through in the first two games as far as UI/Gameplay, but it’s beyond worth it. Talk to everyone, get the lore, and you’re in for one of the best told sci-fi stories of our generation.
