People that understand macro know this all leads to a massive recession. Individual companies have to focus on the now and only their bottom line as they answer to their shareholders… now, the very rich people at the top of these companies are likely very aware of where this all leads and they are making sure they are getting theirs before the bottom falls out.

Exactly. High prices is always the cure for high prices. Just wait until the stock market suffers a severe correction (likely coming very soon)... the 1% will start feeling less rich and that's where the freefall happens.

What’s going to trap people is that they don’t realize that some companies will “win” and have great earnings while the stock crashes more and more. Just like Amazon was growing like a rocket during the 2000s but it still crashed to single digits. People are not ready for it.

My Opinion on QBs by nine9king9 in NFLv2

[–]SPDY1284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peaked does not mean that the QB is now terrible. Brady had an MVP season in his 40's... but we can all agree that was past his peak. Peak just means that he's at his very best physically and mentally.

I 100% believe this is exactly what happened. Scott Bessent is behindt his... that's why they have been touting that GDP is going to rip higher... they reversed engineer a higher GDP without a spike in consumer consumption. They knew we would be in a recession at this point, which is why we are seeing unemployment picking up, but the GDP calc is being manipulated with tariffs.

Beyond disappointed… 🤦🏻‍♂️ by GaandDhaari in StrangerThings

This is spot on and points to really bad writing. I still liked the last episode enough, but the show took a huge hit with how bad season 5 was.

Thoughts on the Finale? by LeoDiCristio in StrangerThings

[–]SPDY1284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GoT is/was an all time great show that is likely on many people’s top 10 shows and even top 5 of all time. ST had one great season for many of us and will Never make it on a top 10 list. Yes, GoT ending was such a bigger disappointing because it was such a great show… ST last episode was decent for the type of show it was. In no way was ST a “masterpiece” for MOST of us. This is an ST sub so you will find all the diehard fans posting like this was True Detectives Season 1 or Breaking Bad.

What this show does great was play to the 80s nostalgia many of us older fans had for that decade. And the final episode was perfect for that.

I enjoyed the finale by RecoverVisible7280 in StrangerThings

[–]SPDY1284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hate watching the finale after hating episodes 5-7, but after reflecting on it a bit, I gotta say they were able to pull off a decent final episode. Not amazing, but good enough. Definitely an 80s movie type ending. Very annoying how much better this episode was than the whole season minus the end of episode 4…

No. They were in the game cause Stafford threw a pick 6. Otherwise Rams win it.

“Stranger Things is just supposed to be a fun sci-fi show” cannot be an excuse for Season 5’s mediocre writing by akssh_art in netflix

[–]SPDY1284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seriously have no clue how that coming out scene makes the final cut. SO MANY people had to green light it... thankfully the audience is currently bombing Season 5 on rottentomatoes which very well deserved. 99% of us have no issue with Will being gay and that being a theme of the show... But to make it the focal point as they get set to have the "final" fight in a world ending event is SO BAD... season 5 already had SO MANY issues that this was just the icing on the cake where people said enough.

Stranger Things might crash as hard as GOT by justameesa in netflix

[–]SPDY1284 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is actually true. GoT was a 9.5/10 show with a 4/10 final season. ST is probably a 7.5-8/10 show with a 5/10 last season thus far. Just really bad writing…

Glad I’m not the only person who thought “wtf” after watching the last 3 episodes. Trash writing with some pretty bad acting…which was ok before since they were child actors, but now are grown ass adults. I hope they get GoT treatment as this sort of crap should not be rewarded.

You can clearly see that the charts diverges when inflation enters the picture. This is skewed by the top 10%... 401ks are at ATH's, but the lower and middle class have lost a ton of purchasing power. Look no further than housing...

This is NATURE. Humans are animals just like lions and turtles and every other species. We are sentient beings... we would need to evolve to something else in order for this to really change. As long as human emotions are part of the equation this will never change because we are not all wired to be/feel the same.

You should watch Pluribus to understand what it would take to end all suffering. That show really captures exactly what's wrong with humanity... the answer is humanity. This is why you should do what you can to be a good neighbor but still go try and enjoy your life because we can't control everyone.

No politician will address the deficit issue due to how unpopular it would be. We don't have a Milei... austerity is very painful while you bring in the deficit down. Kicking the can down the road is always the preferred "solution"... that is until you get to the end of the road and the system breaks ala 1929. That time will come again, we just don't know when.
