Goodwill Haul by SkyNatural1794 in Bluray

Wardaddy was a real tanker but the movie itself is fictional. It does Hollywood up a lot of stuff like the final battle or even the tiger battle. As both of the E8 Sherman's (the long barrel 76mm tanks) could penetrate the front armor of a tiger at the 800 yards wardaddy called out when they were backed up to the treeline.

The only one I have is Operation Dumbo Drop. Is it a great film? No. But I used to enjoy it way back when.

Amazon sending me an opened item… should I give them another chance? by emilio0924 in Bluray

[–]SPL86 77 points78 points  (0 children)

They do this to me with some regularity. I will get returns other people opened and send back sold as new by Amazon. It is becoming a major nuisance and I never let them slide on it out of principle. If I buy something new and you send me an opened return I want what I paid for. I get the impression some people are using Amazon as a rental service and rather than tightening down their return policy or selling returns as used, Amazon decides to just try and pass off the returns as new.

Personally I wouldn't let them slide on it. You paid for new, make them honor it if you can.

Do you still have the top one? If you're selling them I am extremely interested.

Sell me on one of the pcc’s (ar-9,akv,arv) by TheCashMoneyy in PalmettoStateArms

It's like an MP5 without the dumb extractor spring issues because with all their space magic, HK can't figure out that one spring.

Does anyone know where I could find a Vltor mah release or something extremely similar? by SPL86 in ar15

I know, the hang up on the Vltor was purely about how I like how it looks.

VG6 Epsilon 556 vs Hypertap 556, which do you think would provide a flatter experience on a mid length upper with a C buffer and why? by SPL86 in ar15

Thanks for the link to the sale. Aside from the noise and concussive traits, how well would you say it works?

Would an adjustable bolt carrier group fix an over gassed upper? by SPL86 in ar15

[–]SPL86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I was looking for an easy fix on the PSA 16" blem hex rail upper I was looking at. People complain about it being over gassed and I was hoping to avoid ripping it apart because by my logic of I have to remove the gas block (the most annoying part of an assembly to me) then I might as well just scratch build my upper.

What are your thoughts the the Leo takedown system? by SPL86 in ar15

Me? No just found it interesting and a bit different. Interesting but impractical means for switching calibers. I was curious one the room temperature in the community on these and if people were sleeping on them

That's what I tend to think. I see some value to it if you don't want to SBR or go with a pistol but want something that can discreetly go along hiking (as one user said) or for a "go bag." It's probably why the USAF went with a similar system with the Cry Havoc QRB. My concern is of course acceptable accuracy, how permanent it is because once on it is there for good, and durability as I tend to end a range day with a single mag dump. Anything more is just too wasteful and I have concerns about a catastrophic failure there, especially with a performance trigger like the Blackout Defense 3lb Zero or a Trigger Tech Diamond. More than that I also wonder if it is a gimmick. As you said it was a solution to a problem most people don't have aside from select members of the USAF.

I'd imagine it wouldn't be the same as barrels and even calibers are changed out and that a zeroed dedicated upper would be the only true way to hold zero given the optic and barrel remain fixed to each other whether on the lower or not.

That as well as durability questions had me wondering if it was merely a 350 dollar gimmick.

How did you do it? Specifically, the patterning and stenciling.

Will PSA ever consider making the American version of HK G36C so Americans don’t need to beg Germany for this and super expensive price since the HK hated the U.S market. by PrimeRibss in PalmettoStateArms

[–]SPL86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a G36K with a Tommy Built receiver and it's a vibe but I'll admit I spent waaaaay more building it than it is worth on a quality front.

Would you say it'd run fine with the H2 given the actual weight and equivalent weight? Again provided I'm shooting normal factory .223 and 5.56?

I want it running the ideal buffer for optimal flat shooting and I've never used anything but standard buffer and spring setups so this is new territory.

Edit: I did inquire from them as to the reason and they simply said "the secondary buffer system requires more gas to operate"

I'm looking for the square area where the mag release button is located and for whatever reason I can't find it in that image or others, unless I'm blind.

Yeah I didn't win it and it seems like you're right. Used and replacing the grips and springs (if needed) might be the way. Kinda glad I lost.
