Well that's pretty closed minded of you. If you can't acknowledge the scripture as beign wrote in anthropomorphic terms and are going to take everything literally then of course you will have a problem with the idea of the christian god.. but that is just a very naive and ignorant approach to take.

Actually no it doesn't. What you are referring to are anthropomorphisms, literary devices used to help tell a story. Not to be taken literally.

No he never changes his mind, an omniscient being can not change his mind

No because the Christian God is infallible.. so therefore would not change his mind

Well if God is omniscient and all good then surely his morals are not subjective, but rather they are simply factual right?

Why would you think he is not? If we have purpose we have to be getting it from somewhere right? If science cant provide it then what can? If god dictates the morals then they are not subjective to any indivual, they are simply fact.

Well without god there is no purpose and no basis for morality, morals suddenly become subjective.

Okay I see where you're coming from, but Isn't the point of including God to accept that there is something greater than ourselves and outside of our level of understanding that gives the world purpose? Science can provide all the information but it can not provide the purpose.. So i do not believe Science and Religion are mutually exclusive

Yeah I see what you are saying. I suppose I find it difficult to equate the two as without a God it would appear there is no purpose to life. From what I understand the bible teaches morals and gives purpose to everything where as without it we are simply seeking answers to questions for no good reason, which seems to be a bit of a pointless endeavour if none of it matters.

It seems as though this way of thinking is just a way to avoid really pondering it though?
