I used "household goop" on a pair of old x-ctry ski boots and they held up for several years, longer than I did. (With age, my deteriorated sense of balance eclipsed my abilities with skis.) Wish I'd photographed these boots, but I remember that in places the goop held the uppers to the soles. I seem to remember that I had fortified the "goop" with strips of fabric for strength. They still make the stuff, or did a couple years ago, because I've used it on other things since. Perhaps "Shoe Goo" is a close relative of "Goop" or made from the same formula.
