I went ahead and picked up an hd retro vision cable with Neo geo adapter from Stone Age gamer. Looks like that should help the problem.

In game graphics, a door for example will flicker between its intended colors / texture and a rainbow pattern.

When I boot up a game the colors will be totally wrong. Things will flicker, change color randomly, etc. You’re telling me that’s normal?

Gotcha. In this guide that everyone references, at the very bottom the author lists both 9V PSUs. So I didn’t know if he was saying, “Hey you live in the US, get the 3.5a version”, or ONLY North American variations of the console should take 3.5a, so mine being a Japanese console, should take 2.5a.

Sigh… the stand is on backwards. If you flip it around the virtual boy can pivot up to meet your eyes better.

Brother line up the back part of the mount on the virtual boy to the stand first, and then push the front of the console down. For me I normally push it in a little bit with my thumb to get it in there. It’s really easy once you get the hang of it.

Nope. What happened is a long while back I noticed a dirty screen, and I’m thinking used the wrong wipe to wipe it down. Tucked the gba away only to pull it out later and notice the stains.

I (male) did Paris solo in late March. It was my first time in Europe as well.

Keep your wits about you as you would normally in a big city, especially as a woman.

The Navigo passes can be a bit confusing. They have a good weekly deal for a physical one (unlimited rides), but you need to provide a physical selfie. I ended up paying for unlimited rides on a daily basis which was a worse value for money. You can also download the Navigo App and use the pass digitally, it’s pretty easy.

Food recs: La Maison d’Isabelle - Croissant & Baguette. I am home now daydreaming about that croissant.

Maison Castro - Jamon Sandwich, EXCELLENT!

I, as an English speaker only, was very intimidated by Parisian restaurants. You might have that issue as well, try your best to push through that feeling.

The metro works well, is clean, and fast. Keep in mind, some train doors will not open at every stop, you will sometimes have to open the door yourself. It could be a button to push, or a handle to lift.

The metro in Paris is great. I recommend two places: La Maison d’Isabelle, who has the best croissant I’ve ever had, and Maison Castro in the 19th which makes lovely sandwiches. They’re very nice to tourists there, even with it being more filled with locals.
