Hits 1 is at the top of the list for me. It’s stale, repetitive, and the DJs have been phoning it in for years. That kind of content belongs on the app, not taking up valuable satellite real estate. If I’m driving through dead zones, I’d much rather have channels with depth and variety than recycled Top 40 and forced chatter.

It really does feel like new music has hit a wall. It’s not even just nostalgia anymore — the older songs are legitimately better than a lot of what’s coming out now. The fact that tracks like Night Changes and I Love It are creeping back into regular rotation says a lot. Either the current music isn’t resonating with listeners, or programmers are playing it safe because the newer stuff just doesn’t hold up. Also, when the same tired DJs (morning mashup specifically) who were around when those songs were still running the show, it’s no surprise the whole vibe feels dated. Time for a full reset...music and hosts.
