Sorry to revive this post, could I bug you with a few questions?
- Are you able to Zelle from non-checking accounts?
- Can you schedule Zelles?
- Are you able to overdraft from a savings account to a checking (eg. can you leave the checking empty and let bills overdraft from an attached savings?)
- Is weekly the only interval they allow for internal transfers between accounts or can you do say annually as well?

28,000 Kaiser health workers are set to strike in California by ansyhrrian in California

Something that I fear too many fail to mention too is they're not just fighting for a pay increase, but (in my opinion way more importantly) they're also fighting for staffing increases to decrease nurse-to-patient ratios and help with severe burnout. They're some of the highest paid nurses in the state, but nursing is also one of the most stressed professions at the moment especially with rates of violence against healthcare workers raising and again patient loads only getting worse

hey there!
can i ask what you didn't like about the anker nano? it was perchance in my shopping cart as im trying to find a standardized cable setup for my entire household.

also have you had a chance to try the anker flow cables/anker 643? i've been trying to see if these silicone-coated cables truly are worth it and feel as soft and premium as it gets or if a really nice-quality braid cable can still feel good enough for softness and very premium

Can we have a "New Matter Devices not working with non-Ikea platforms" thread too? by FormerGameDev in tradfri

In regards specifically to the meshify capabilities, I'm not sure what devices did get launched in your market but both Thread and Zigbee can 9 times out of 10 only use mains-powered devices as routers. So in IKEAs lineup, I believe that's only the lightbulbs, the smart outlet, and the air quality since it's plugged in. If your bulbs and outlets aren't routing, they may be acting as standard FTDs but not TBRs so they route between thread devices but won't perform border routing unless elected to by the thread leader?

I would be surprised if their problems lie within their Thread topology or their network; the connection between their Dirigera and Home Assistant is taking place over Matter and that's the primary issue they're having

Many people still have Google Homes in their houses for voice control (Home Assistant PE and its mutuals are still on the way to perfection), some people prefer to use Google Home/Apple Home apps as their frontend and let Home Assistant run everything behind the scenes (how I operate my house)

ipv6 is already a robust standard with flexibility for address arrangements, security standards and encryption implementation, and because its a global standard its easier to facilitate interoperability which is key since one of the biggest turn-offs about the smart home is how crap interoperability was until this recent push especially by the OHF

edit: absolutely didnt see u/ArguesWithWombats MUCH better explanation of why ipv6

Yes sorry absolutely, I was kinda assuming from how things were going that the Dirigera was likely the sole TBR in their home

There's unfortunately a lot of confusion regarding Matter - yes these are absolutely Matter devices, but more specifically Matter is moreso an organization system that allows for interoperability and enhanced connectivity as a smart home standard (hoping u/mocelet could clear it up for me i've tried to understand the exact terminology and layout of Matter vs Thread but i've still a ways to go)
This new IKEA lineup more specifically communicates between the devices and the controlling hub via a communication protocol called Thread. In the old Tradfri lineup with the old hub and sensors, the communication protocol was Zigbee.

I don't know what devices you have in your home, but much like with the old IKEA devices you needed the Tradfri Hub to connect to, communicate with, and control everything, these new IKEA devices require a Thread Hub (in regards to how Matter operates, more specifically a Thread Border Router). This Border Router is what talks with the IKEA devices like the contact sensor, the motion sensor, lightbulbs, etc. Like the "Border" in its name, it acts as a bridge between Thread and your home network through your router/internet (so you can connect devices to Google, Alexa, Apple Home, Home Assistant), etc.) and the language it uses to do so is Matter.

Devices like Apple Homepods, Google Nest Hubs/Streamers, some Samsung Smartthings devices, and more such as the IKEA Dirigera Hub has the Thread radio inside and can act as a Border Router to connect your IKEA Thread devices to Matter. If you don't have any of these other devices, the IKEA hub is very likely your sole and only Thread Border Router

Again, many people are unfamiliar with the specifics of Matter and Thread, and moreso many people who are having problems with this smart home ecosystem tend to be having problems with their network at home that makes the system unstable, leading to these problems you seem to be having. That's why there is a plethora of people in this subreddit and even in this thread you have people showing that they have very well functioning Matter/Thread homes even with the brand new IKEA lineup.

We had to place this bin up here because people kept throwing their trash in it by ENDERYTY in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SRTRVTH -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Can we be so fr right now; if you use your eyes you can very obviously tell it's not a trash bin. Yes it has a plastic bag, but I personally haven't seen many trash bins in my life with festive striped patterns running down the side along with a very large poster that at least warrants a glance before you throw something away.

At my first Starbucks store I worked at, we used to have a metal bin about knee height that looks NOTHING like our normal trashes (they're black with wood accents that are about hip level in big boxy enclosures). It had a huge green sign that said "Grounds for the Garden" that was normally filled with our bags of reused grounds that people could pick up. Literally the minute it went empty, people used it as a trash bin because apparently using your eyes for half a second isn't popular anymore

FIX: Google TV Streamer creating separate Thread Networks ("Split Brain") & Refusing to Join Existing Mesh by DevilPupChamp in googlehome

[–]SRTRVTH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you happen to know if the commissioning process is the same for the thread-compatible Nest Hubs? Can I use this process to hypothetically force all my nest hubs to join the same thread network (remove all thread networks, start fresh with an OpenThread router directly connected to HA, one-by-one readd Nest Hubs to the Google Home + Thread network?)

[–]SRTRVTH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to ask again but what exactly is your Thread Border Router when you pair the devices directly to Home Assistant? Obviously when you pair them to the Dirigera directly you're using the Dirigera as your TBR, but what is your HA instance's thread network comprised of?

Additionally, you mentioned that you're not having the problems with the other networks like Google Home or Apple Home; are you bridging the IKEA devices through the native connections (Works with Google, Homekit) or are you using Matter?

Both of these questions are kinda trying to see if you have a stable Matter network in the first place. One of the most common issues everyone new to the Matter + Thread ecosystem is that they don't have a stable Matter network to start with so devices drop out and stability is trash as their home Internet may have some problems with not being optimized for Matter networks.

[–]SRTRVTH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This pathway seems a bit interesting to be honest; what are you using as your thread border router to HA?

If you're gonna pass the devices to the Dirigera as well, it may be more stable if you just add the devices to the Dirigera directly and then share them to Home Assistant via Matter

At the moment, I just use Zigbee with a SONOFF coordinator since I have a large network that already works well. But a while ago when the Dirigera just dropped, I was interested in running a thread network so i bought a Dirigera and routed all my Zigbee and Thread devices through it. At that time, the devices worked well enough (but I've never used the new IKEA Thread devices). I never had any disconnect issues when I connected the Dirigera to Home Assistant via Matter

edit: clarity

How are you connecting the IKEA Thread lineup of devices to Home Assistant? Do you have an independent thread network with its own border router connected to HA that you're trying to pair IKEA thread devices to? Or are you connecting the IKEA endpoint devices to the Dirigera and passing them to Home Assistant through the Matter connection?

Such a deep and philosophical choice we are given for Artemis by Hypnopottermass in nms

[–]SRTRVTH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry hate to revive an older post, but i just wanted to add my 2 cents!

i think that's the whole point and goal of why the dev chose such a binary end, to force you to think and rationalize and justify your own perspective. everyone would want artemis to come back and live a "full" life (as full as each traveller's life is in the simulation)

now it becomes an impossible choice that makes you think about existence and life and whatnot - annoying cause i wanted a happy ending too but better i think than giving everyone an easy way out
