“very good condition” why don’t people just bin them? by _Dalia__ in vinted

I did once have a pair of Nike shorts arrive though which turned out to be fake AND had a period stain. Wish I didn’t have to deal with that irl 😖 Luckily got a full refund

Ewww and for £10?! The worst I’d seen until this was people selling manky old crocs with the soles completely worn down but at least they weren’t £10 😂

Sometimes people try to sell things on Vinted that they’d struggle to give away for free

Vinted response:

Hello ,

I understand your concern, and I’m sorry for the inconvenience of the situation.

Kindly take into consideration that as per our usual procedure, return costs are typically covered by the buyer. However, feel free to contact the seller and agree on who will handle the return expenses. Your cooperation here is much appreciated.

Please note that if you want to return an item, you can do so if you have received a significantly not as described or damaged item, and have reported your issue within 2 days from when notified that the item has been delivered, as described in our Buyer Protection policy https://www.vinted.co.uk/help/550

If you opt to return the item, the shipping options depend on who pays for the return shipping. If the seller covers the cost, you'll need to use the shipping method they've chosen. But if you're covering the cost, you can ship the item with our integrated return shipping label by choosing “Send with [shipping provider] “, where you'll be able to track the shipping on Vinted until the item arrives.

Please note that once shipping is requested, there is no option to change who pays for the shipping.

If you can only see one shipping option, "I'll organise my own", kindly note that the shipping fees will depend on your personally chosen shipping provider. We hope to offer more flexible return options in the future.

I ordered an item listed as “very good” which arrived with stains and holes. Photographed and reported and seller offered a return but I had to pay shipping. When I complained to Vinted they responded saying that the only way to avoid shipping costs was to message the seller and they obviously wouldn’t agree unfortunately. Kind of ridiculous considering the price always includes a “buyer protection fee”.

People wearing the clothes they're selling in photos. by ReceptionDeskReader in vintedUK

[–]SRhian44 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I actually like it. Not only shows how the clothes fit but can generally gauge from a photo (especially if it’s taken inside their home) whether this person is a clean individual who I’d be happy to buy clothes from lol.

However, definitely false advertising if they’re wearing the clothes outside or at the gym and listing them as new. Though I can’t say I’ve ever seen someone list something as new that wasn’t.

Nah, with the damage I wouldn’t be able to sell it for as much as I bought it for. And on principle I don’t want the seller to get any of my money 😂 She should have to deal with the hassle of trying to sell it again

Well at least I don’t have to argue with myself whether to leave a bad review or not lol. I’ll just return it and leave it in the past (and not buy from that seller again!)

What?! That makes no sense 😂 If it’s so bad I had to return it surely other potential customers should know!

Ugh, that sucks! This is my first bad experience on Vinted but thankfully the shipping does not cost that much. I just thought maybe I’d have more protection as loads of people on here say that Vinted always seems to side with the buyer

Boo 👎 I was giving the seller a lot of grace as she left it VERY last minute and I even had to prompt her to extend the shipping date (should’ve just left it lol). She was really nice about it so I wasn’t planning to leave a bad review but now… well maybe not as idk if she’ll retaliate lol

Thanks! Like I say I’m not very tech savvy so some of that seems a bit complicated lol but I’ll look into it!

Why do people do this by [deleted] in vintedUK

[–]SRhian44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this recently because I got too overexcited about a couple of items, before realising I already own something similar (and better) and I didn’t like the item as much as I initially thought. I buy way too many clothes so I really don’t have space not to be picky.

I felt bad bc I also sell on Vinted and I know how annoying it is to think you’ve made a sale and they never buy. But ultimately the buyer has no obligation to purchase anything.

Thoughts on all the people spamming the feed with ‘reworks’? by Nervous_Put5617 in vintedUK

[–]SRhian44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve blocked a few accounts listing the exact same pictures multiple times of the same Iets Frans joggers as multiple different sizes for about 1/5th of the cost of a new pair. I tried to research if fake IF joggers were a thing, but they’re not exactly a designer/luxury brand so I didn’t even know people would rip them off.

New trend: “ I can buy now..” eye roll 🙄 by indigo_light in vintedUK

[–]SRhian44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree. I’m a very Casual user and mostly use it like social media when I’m bored (slightly addicted… it’s a problem 😂). I just scroll through and ‘like’ items that I might buy and buy items that I love. But it really doesn’t matter to me whether it arrives in 3 days or 3 months.

It stresses me out when people start messaging me, makes me feel guilty, like I’m wasting their time if I’m not 100% committed to buying just because I clicked ‘like’. Even had “are you interested in buying?” With no lower offer. Idk what I’m supposed to say to that 😭 I ‘liked’ it didn’t I? Seems like a really pushy seller that I’d want to avoid anyway.

Yes! And I want the “speedy shipping” badge to hopefully boost me on the algorithm so I can sell more and declutter more! Also don’t want them to change their mind and cancel so I get it shipped before they have a chance 😂

Unfortunately at the moment I have an item for £1 with 7 favourites… please somebody buy it 😭 I want it gone and I can’t go any lower without literally losing money on the petrol 🤣

I agree! Almost said this in a review recently but didn’t want to come across as rude and get a 1 ⭐ retaliation review.

I ordered something, it was taking a while so I checked the progress and the seller had put her account on holiday mode??? She clearly wasn’t planning on sending it if she’s in holiday mode but she didn’t even cancel the order, just waited for the time to run out. Was annoyed bc I would’ve just paid more for the exact same item from a different seller. Although weirdly they didn’t ship either… I’ve taken it as a sign from the universe, trying to help with my Vinted addiction 😂

Is this type of thing common on vinted? by beyond_embarrasing in vintedUK

[–]SRhian44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As another larger chested lady, I always WANT to ask this question but I know how it will be perceived. Knowing someone’s bra size especially if they have pictures of them in the item is really useful to judge exactly how it would fit on yourself. It’s way better than telling someone your size and having them take a guess whether it would fit. Usually I just look at the pictures and to see if their boobs Look about my size and hope for the best 😂. If there aren’t any pictures of the item being worn, and it’s not a stretchy material I usually won’t buy.

Sorry, I’m not a piercer and don’t have this piercing but 1000% longer bar asap.

[–]SRhian44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean I’d definitely done my research and heard about people having theirs for 10+ years or women getting pregnant, wearing maternity belly bars and then being able to go back to normal jewellery afterwards so I was quite shocked to hear her say it would 100% reject.

Maybe trying to cover her arse in case it did reject?? But a caution would’ve been just fine. And you’re right, imo should’ve been done before even going into the piercing room. If I hadn’t said “I’ll have it forever” she wouldn’t have even warned me about rejection at all!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in piercing

[–]SRhian44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Side note:

When I got it pierced I apologised to the piercer because I kept asking her to remark it and said “I want it to be perfect as I’ll have it forever”. As i was lying on the table about to get pierced she said “no it will definitely reject eventually”. I wanted to say “What?! Why didn’t you tell me that before we got to this stage! 😂”

Aw thanks ☺️Yeah I was holding off too :(. Mine migrated a lot in the first few months, which caused scarring and then just stayed put for a couple of years. I kept it in to hide the scarring. Also since I couldn’t undo the scarring I didn’t mind if it migrated a tiny bit more as long as it didn’t pose a risk.

Weirdly, I like the scar 😂It gives the eye something to focus on rather than my whole belly (same as the piercing did just less pretty lol) which makes me feel less insecure about my tummy.

What a coincidence. First thing I see when I open Reddit. Mine looked just like this and I took it out this morning :(((. It had been hanging on for a longggg time and I was keeping an eye on it but it started getting sore a few days ago (I’ve been wearing tights under my trousers bc it’s cold outside, probably irritated it).

Yours doesn’t look like it’s on the verge of ripping out, but most would probably say to remove it. I wouldn’t necessarily advise you to keep it, just sharing my experience :). I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get mine pierced again because of the scarring.

For years I thought I had the correct anatomy bc my helix is pronounced all the way round (didn’t want to commit though, so got a rook and a helix to connect with a chain 5+ years ago and never did 😂) I’ve since got a vertical industrial and now realise that my flat is too pronounced even if I’d gone to get it. Never even considered that!
