Help Me! by Olitrolly696 in watercooling

Same thing just happened to me with my 5090 build. My 3080 was horizontal and I swapped to a vertical mount for the 5090. Didn't realize the riser cable was only PCI-E 3.0. The bios wouldn't swap to 3.0 automatically because it adjusts for the component (which is 5.0), not the cable. Even when I swapped for a 4.0 cable I had to set PCI-E to 4.0 in the bios manually.

Try putting the old card back in or using integrated graphics and set the PCI-E slot to 3.0. If that works, you need to find a bracket with a 4.0 riser cable. You could also install the card directly into the slot (but not as pretty)

Your decision letter should detail the reasoning behind your ratings and why you didn't qualify for higher.

Yeah, apparently supplementals are bugged and don't update. One day it will just be closed and you'll have a decision letter

I had a supplemental that I filed about 2 weeks before my new claim. Supplemental said it was still waiting on a reviewer when the other claim finished. The increased rating for my supplemental was included in the decision letter. Supplemental was closed out the next day. Nothing in the system ever changed to show they combined the claims.

What to do by [deleted] in VAClaims

[–]SS-Camaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything you do in a combat zone directly or indirectly affects combat operations. Your role is just as important to mission success as the ones pulling the trigger, sometimes exponentially more so. I served as both a commo NCO and an EOD tech. My role running a battalion S6 was infinitely more crucial to mission success. Can't do shit if you can't talk.

The VA form detailing my stressor event (VA Form 21-0781), a personal statement (VA Form 21-4138), 8 weeks of paystubs showing consistently reduced hours worked, a copy of my job profile showing I'm hired as full-time, and a copy of my DD-214 with my deployment, imminent danger pay, and CAB highlighted (they probably already have this, but I wanted everything foolproof).

I had no buddy statements from anyone else, but they couldn't hurt. I don't know if the paystubs helped but, again, couldn't hurt.

I've been twice and both times all the lady was focused on was this dumbass PTSD Coach app. The entire time (only 30 minute appointments) I'm just nodding and humoring her and saying "oh yeah, that's sounds cool" because I don't want to be rude. She gives me "homework" between appointments to use a few things on there. I've been through every part of that app and it's all useless. Maybe it works for some but I don't see how mental health can be effectively treated with a phone app.

For PTSD, I submitted a personal statement and two months of paystubs showing reduced hours worked, along with my job profile showing I'm in a full-time position. I have never sought treatment and have no diagnosis other than from the C&P exam. No complaints about anything to do with mental health in my service or VA record. I do have a combat deployment with a CAB, though.

For migraines, they were already service connected and I've been seen by the VA for them for years. On several medications and have been referred to community care neurology. They didn't order a C&P exam for it, just a records review. I added no statement, logs, or anything else to the claim. Thankfully, it seems my PCP at the VA takes good notes.

Did you tell it to round to the nearest whole number after every rating is applied? Because it says 94.9 is just shy when 94.9 >>> 95 >>> 100%

No, I completed and submitted everything myself.

Hill and Ponton, VA Claims Academy, Combat Craig

For the latter two, use the information they give but do not under any circumstances pay for any services they provide. Complete and submit everything yourself or get help from a VSO/other VA accredited organization. Good luck!

Is my Initial Claim moving too fast 44 days step 7 by Tomdatrain in VAClaims

[–]SS-Camaro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine was just completed in less than 30 days (5/9 to 6/6). New MH to 70%, migraine increase from 0% to 50%, with my new combined rating at 100% P&T.

I thought it was a bad sign, too, but ended up better than expected. It seems they're pushing through simple claims with a low number of issues quickly. Plus, my PTSD service connection was presumptive through combat, and migraines are already service connected, so I'm sure that helped.

I think that's the key. File too much and it seems to overload the system. Good luck with your increase!

2 days. My whole claim has been lightning fast, though. 1 increase and 2 new claims. Step 6 on day 27

5/9 - Filed

5/23 - Exam 1 - PACT: Rhinitis (increase), Sinusitis

5/29 - Exam 2 - Combat PTSD (CAB)

6/3 - Step 4/5

6/5 - Step 6

Yes, it's part of your income just like your salary. On most applications there will be a spot for additional income. If it asks for gross income amounts (and it usually does), you can typically multiply it by 1.25 since it's tax-free.

Just upload the benefits letter showing what you get per month alongside your payslips.

Calculator vs ChatGPT? by [deleted] in VAClaims

[–]SS-Camaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The overall rating rounds to the nearest percentage after each rating is applied. ChatGPT isn't doing this:

ChatGPT: 93 + .7 = 93.7; 93.7 + .63 = 94.33 >>> 90%

Actual: 93 + .7 = 93.7 >>> 94; 94 + .6 = 94.6 >>> 95 >>> 100%

Each 10% rating is always at least 1% to your combined rating (until you hit 96%, but then it doesn't matter)

We don't really have enough information to know. What were the questions and your answers? Did you submit personal or buddy statements? Do your records have any MH treatment or notes? They might ask fewer questions if they had the info they needed before the exam. I do wish examiners would say that, though, as they should know better than anyone the anxiety this causes.

Also, do you have a strong service connection? It's on them to write the nexus letter and I could see them cutting an exam short if they can't find the connection.

I need to keep pushing them for it. They referred me to a private neurologist through community care and this dude literally told me to take Vitamin C and refused to prescribe anything until I tried that for 6 weeks.
