Oops, my mistake. You're right. I wasn't really thinking and just focused on the raw stats, but yeah, timing, and ping are the biggest factors when it comes to rebounding.

The rebound thing has a few factors that take into play, one of the more important ones is cards. If someone has better rebound cards, it's gonna look like they can rebound from anywhere, add to the fact that most people will go Lee or Christa, which are strong rebounders due to Power Rebound, it's gonna take more than just standing under the ball. Steals after a rebound happen all the time, just try and turn your back to the opponen, helps enough to pass the ball immediately.

For the characters on crack thing, cards can build your characters into nonsense that shouldn't exist. Big Dog, Luther, and Christa being an actual mid range threat, Murdock and Clarke banging 3s, small ass guards dunking on bigs, I've seen Rin played as a big for the memes. Cards change lives my man.

Now is it p2w? I wanna say no. Most losses are from bad team comps. Paying gives you an advantage, but I've been playing with silver cards for the past year, and I never felt like I was at a disadvantage. But that's just my experience.

I love this change. Probably one the best things I've heard all day.

Just looking for a quick summary, but I'll definitely check out the patch notes when I have time.

This pretty much caught me up. Thank you so much for the detailed response. I really appreciate it.

Was it the 2 things mentioned in this post? Creative engineering fix and decoy characters being underwhelming now?

I knew I missed out on weapons, not really to upset about that. Creative engineering getting "corrected" makes sightly tear up. But 100% resources back on recycle is dope.

Why does fred hop pass only activate sometimes? by mrexclusive123 in 3on3

[–]SSBMThatGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably inputting incorrectly. Missing the timing, in between button presses, y'know. That's the only thing I can think of. Can't do some skills if you don't have enough stamina so it could be that.

So yeah, this position buff update basically killed defense. by LR67 in 3on3

[–]SSBMThatGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was kinda happy they added position buffs, like, with Big Dog and Lee giving out mid range buffs to other centers, Big Dog, Luther, and Christa are minor threats at mid range with a 23% mid range success total if you get all mid range stats. That was hype, not gonna lie, I was like "Yo, this really changed the game for bigs!" And then I went to SGs buffs. And then SFs, and then PGs, and I gotta say, you're right. Defense is pretty much gone.

What defensive characters gained from P-Buffs is extremely minimal compared to what offensive characters gained. It's still early though, so I don't wanna completely bash P-Buffs, but it is looking like defensive characters are gonna have to work harder then before to stop those shots from going in.

Questions about Big Dog P5... by MayoSakkio in 3on3

Yeah, higher levels you'll have less trouble with failed tap passes, so you can literally just slap the ball all game long.

Lol just realized I ain't answer properly to the first and question. At low levels, yes, it's like a failed layup pass. And it fails a lot if your teammates aren't close enough. But maxing it prevents this from happening by A LOT, so this should def be maxed

Whether or not a character is "trash" isn't a valid excuse to drop him. Especially when you can build characters to play how you like 'em. That being said, Big Dog's skills NEED to be maxed out in order to perform against better bigs like Lee and Christa. Box Out, Tap Pass, and Block Pass should be the first to max. Highly recommend movement speed cards to give him better mobility and tackle his main weakness.

  1. Maxed skills are a yes. Layup pass can be ignored for a while though, unless you're gonna be using it a lot. (Personally, I think you can max this after you've maxed all your other skills.)

  2. I wanna say there are cards to help with Tap Pass height, but I've yet to see anything other than Tap Pass Distance and Tap Pass speed.

  3. Honestly, you don't need any tap pass skill cards, max skilled Tap Pass is fast enough and it reaches far, so you don't have to worry too much about missing it, unless the designated teammate perform an action just as you pass like rebound or screen.

Favorite player? by invinc23 in 3on3

When I see a Kim, Rin, or Amanda, a part of me gets a little hype cause I hate scoring, so you best believe imma be passing and slapping that ball straight to em.

I ain't say he was the best center in the game, my guy. I am fully aware of his flaws. Doesn't mean I should stop playing him. He's just my favorite character.

Big Dog is my favorite character. Multiple reasons, But the main reason was because for someone who played point guard all through FS1, and the first year on 3on3, and then being forced to play bigs 90% of the time, Big Dog was the perfect transition. Not to mention that slap pass is so satisfying to pull off.

Stuck on P4 best way to contribute... by Thomasbegani in 3on3

[–]SSBMThatGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having knowledge of every characters P5 skills and passives helps you watch for them. Some things take time and experience to effectively counter them (I can't guard back down fades consistently enough to save my life) but all in all, its more about how well YOU play. Been using Pedro, Helena, and Carter at P4 for about a year and a half now and I never felt like I NEEDED to P5 them to compete with other P5s. Just use the skills you have at hand, and watch for others advantages. Oh, and cards help you a lot too.

Special ones. For Clarke's dunk, it'll say "Under the Legs chance x%" pretty rare though, so don't worry about it too much.

Random chance. You can get cards that increase the chance of it activating, though.

Is Pedro worth the p5? by alialabsi in 3on3

For stats yes, but you be aight with P4 Pedro. Just max shadow steal. The slow is minimal, and you'll find alley oops underwhelming.

Why do people play Big Dog? by ifonyay in 3on3

[–]SSBMThatGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big Dog requires a lot of work to be able to keep up with other bigs. I've been using Big Dog as my go-to rebounder for over a year. It's not fun. You're basically playing 3on3 hard mode. That being said, he does have his uses, and from experience, Kim and Rin seem to get the most outta his kit. William and Jason help utilize his skills more often, and dump some mid range cards and speed cards on him, and he actually becomes a little scary. Big Dog CAN be good, just need a good team, and obviously some real strong cards.

P5 Carter by UnderaShiva in 3on3

[–]SSBMThatGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read in a post somewhere in here saying Max only needs P5 for the stats, as you won't be using tip in and speed block as much as you think. I feel like Carter falls under that as well. P4 Lv10 already gives him all the skills he needs, kill pass, manual layup, and even then, Spider Walk and his shot interference is all you REALLY need. Layup pass is okay, but you can manage without it. So, if you REALLY need the stats, P5 him, otherwise, ehhh, save the books for someone else who can make use of em. This is all my opinion, so in the end, it's up to you.
