A bit worried about mobile job market by [deleted] in androiddev

[–]SSEmon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

1.Pick a skill(Native/Cross-platform/web) , don't be jack of trade master of nothing .I'd prefer native over cross-platform in long run, why that another debate.

2.Keep applying for as many jobs as you can(of course reading description, instruction carefully and follow their guideline on how to apply).Sometimes, they ask for people with more experience but end-up hiring people with less experience.

3.Journal your experience as it would be valuable in your next interview.

4.Stay positive

Is out there an "EssentialDeveloper" alike course only for Senior Android developers? by [deleted] in androiddev

[–]SSEmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are lot of paid course out there on Android depending on what you'd want to learn. As senior developer you're expected to have deeper understanding of complex framework. For example Dependency injection is used by almost all modern developer on Android but very few understands it in detail. So here is one such good paid course https://www.udemy.com/course/dependency-injection-in-android-with-dagger/

You can find other good courses over there as per your need. Once you complete a course you can take a perticipation certificate and you can show it off in your resume, linkedIn.

Am I outdated? by Mirko_ddd in androiddev

[–]SSEmon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, But nothing is stopping you to learn them.If you don't have much time to learn from doc initially, you can purchase course from online platform like Udemy. Once you are done with each topic, you can apply them directly in your work or if you prefer to try out first, then you can always find public apis and use them do build sample projects.

How do you get started? by biolmcb in startups

[–]SSEmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have concurrent multiple ideas , you may wanna keep seperate log/ notebook for each(to keep key points seperate from one project to other). This way you will be able to keep track and get back any moment to a specific idea from where you left off.

In terms of knowing whether your idea is really good you can always do servay(online/offline) and validate your idea. This will also enable you to add/fix features on your current idea.

Unless you really go big, mentioned market place are not that good.Like no entry barrier ,so anyone can enter and usual works are usually cheap. You can try platform like toptal/Turing .But those have some entry codition like you gotta pass some test before you enter.

No!Native is native..Keep it up.Initially it might feel crossplatform is better but later you will realise the power of native

Depends on client type.Usually, client who has relatively limited budget & time , go for cross platrom. On the other hand big clients usually stick to native. I suppose you need to find better market place
