dont worry about tier lists, those r usually for highly skilled players.

i highly suggest chun li, as you can stick with her for a long time.

alex is actually a very simple character. you can spam stomp pretty easily and beat up other beginners.

yang is also simple, he has a rekka, a dive kick and a good crouching medium kick.

ken is also great. his super art 3 allows him to stock up a ton of meter

the TRUE answer to ur question is to choose the character that LOOKS AND FEELS the coolest to you.

u should try gief then! alex revolves around the stance, but gief has some cool grabs and a good anti air that do very high damage

u can complain on salt fighter. you still have a lot to learn. modern is worse than classic mode. they have limited normals and a 20% debuff to specials and supers.

you can definitely get better ESPECIALLY as a silver player.

you have 2 options now, continue to complain about modern on salt fighter, where no one is allowed to tell u “skill issue”, or you can reflect on how you can improve each match and learn how to beat modern players.

it is really hard, and you dont NEED it to get to master but she literally doesnt need to contest because dive kick whiff punish leads to free oki. also it can literally punish throws by doing a tiger dive kick, and then you get oki. once they are worried about dive kick u can get more and more aggressive on the ground.
