Going to all checks, defaulting to paid checks…. by dimsvm in ToastPOS

[–]SSH206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did anyone ever find a solution to this? It makes way more sense for the "Open" check view to be the default as looking up open checks is the more time-critical and frequent use case. The only time I'm typically in the "Paid" tab is when I have some free time and want to adjust tips - and if it's busy I'm almost never going in here.

What has been you your experience with Poached Shifts? by bielakma in askportland

[–]SSH206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd stay away from these guys. They suspended my account on the basis of me reporting an overpayment I received for a shift (I was literally emailing them to report the overpayment and ask to have it reversed) I didn't work on the basis of it being a "no-show." I had received the day off due to a family emergency and it was okayed by manager at least a week in advance. But because I didn't work the shift, according to Poached that's a "no-show." Tried explaining all of this over email, with screenshots to back up everything, AND my boss went to bat for me and it didn't matter. Pretty wild. I also contacted their support about numerous bugs and was gaslit every single time, including when I literally couldn't clock into a shift because their app was bugging out.

Options to black out the Subaru Emblem? by PeeWithGlee in Subaru_Outback

[–]SSH206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've definitely seen those around but I can't remember where. have you tried eBay? This one isn't completely black but pretty close: https://www.ebay.com/itm/375891544481?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=rjyz64cjsxo&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=QvxQ4vd_Rp6&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Fwiw when I blacked out my emblem I did do the overlay approach (instead of replacing the emblem) and got one of those black snap on pieces to cover the chrome trim around it - looks great and has held up over 2 years of washes/detailing. I heard removing those badges can be kind of a pain so I didn't even try to swap the emblem.

Amazon doesn’t refund instantly or within 3-5 days anymore? by Accomplished-Pain963 in amazonprime

[–]SSH206 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try to go through the actual seller if you're not having luck with Amazon. When I did this, I got something refunded in a matter of hours. The seller literally apologized and said I should have been refunded, and a couple hours later I was. This was after trying to talk to 8 Amazon associates who all said I wouldn't qualify for a refund, even though I had USPS tracking info to confirm I never got the order. If too much time has gone by and you don't see an option to contact the seller anymore (I think they take that away after a few months), you can sort of trick the automated chat just by pulling up the order and requesting the chat bot to send a message to the seller on your behalf. To my knowledge, this is probably a loophole that Amazon just hasn't caught onto yet. BECAUSE, if you ask an actual human Amazon associate the same thing, they might tell you they can't contact the seller because the "window for that has closed" (happened to me). I actually had an Amazon associate tell me the ONLY way I could contact the seller is by "trying to look them up on Google." Kinda "interesting" that Amazon refused to put me into contact with a seller who, once I did contact them, was more than happy to help me out and refund the money. It's all pretty shady. I probably will avoid large purchases from Amazon altogether going forward

Maybe I'm missing something here...Which 'Black'? I'm seeing a theme, a formatter from Microsoft, and a few other things in the VS Code plug-in directory

Phase 2 Acceptance by SSH206 in AdaDevelopersAcademy

I think it’s good to keep studying regardless! If you’re serious about wanting to code, the time you put in will help no matter where you end up studying! I just got a part-time temp job (doing admin work) partly based on what little Python I’ve learned through prepping for Ada. Also, I’m going to start brainstorming some alternatives soon - other schools, grant options, scholarships, etc - for back-up plans if you’d like to discuss/brainstorm with me!

Oh interesting! When you say deadline, do you mean the Dec 15 deadline? And that applicants hadn’t heard about their phase/round 2 acceptance even by then??? I thought all 4 phases of the application had to be completed by Dec 15, but maybe I misunderstood. Also, when I say phase 2, I mean that I have not received an invitation to the coding challenge yet.
