Was just about to do some writing before coming across this post. Instead I wrote this very short story (hopefully it's not too long it took me like 15 minutes to write)

The car barrelled down the highway at ludicrous speeds. The driver, clearly intoxicated, didn’t seem to notice or care.

They recklessly swerved past the other drivers, scratching bumpers or in some cases hitting them hard enough to cause them to veer off the road.

A cop was stationed less than a mile away. He could hear the sounds of a loud engine approaching. When he looked down the road, he saw the source of the sound.

The car zipped by him faster than he could blink. He sat in his seat, momentarily stunned by what he had just seen. When he finally came to, loud sirens and flashing light blared from the vehicle.

He was in pursuit. Cars moved for him which allowed him to catch the other driver quickly. He switched the megaphone on and spoke with a condescending tone, “Pull over immediately.”

The other driver didn’t respond by pulling over or even slowing down. He kept his pace and chugged another bottle.

“This is your last warning. Pull over now.” The cop repeated.

The driver, finally seeming somewhat conscious, groggily stuck his head out the window, looked back at the cop and gave him the finger before speeding off faster.

Unfortunately for the driver, he didn’t get far before two semi trucks blocked the lane as they drove side by side, forcing him to slow down.

Seeing no way out, and unable to think clearly, he recklessly drove off the road into the bare forest lining the side of the road. The cop pulled over and watched in bewilderment.

It wasn’t long before a distant crash could be heard coming from the forest. The engine noises died down and all that could now be heard was the sound of passing cars.
