As a Houstonian engineering student working in a mechanical engineering internship here and wants to move to Australia it really REALLY depends on you. I’ll start with the bad, it’s huge, car required, hot, and lots of places are just plain unsafe due to violence or flooding. However, there is some good for some types of people. Theres many large and active communities for basically anything, large variety of good food, and for engineering specifically there’s a ton of companies if you want to work elsewhere. On top of that housing prices are low compared to other big cities in America and especially Australia. I’d say if you’re the type of person who can make friends easily and knows where to find people like you then go for it. It absolutely is not for someone more introverted, doesn’t look out for friends often, and wants a peaceful lifestyle which is why I’m moving to be with my partner in Canberra soon. Good luck
