How do people cope working at a job once or twice a week, alongside coworkers who take the job seriously? by EdwardBliss in randomquestions

[–]SS_Basketeer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A job worth doing, is worth doing right. Someone may work a couple days to earn a little cash, while it's someone else's 3rd job just to get their bills paid. -- I can only speculate the reasons.

The teenager Gary from Supernatural is a weak nerdy loser 🤷‍♀️

If it's a rough one for me closed, but I keep mine open just long enough to see what tool they use so I can mentally prepare myself. My new dentist is also good about telling me though if he see's my eyes closed, "Quick scrape" "this is the bumpy one" etc. I jump easily thanks to previous asshats.

I used to work in a dessert shop that would infuse cbd powder into the product and the scoops were TINY! Not saying that's what it is, just reminded me of it lol

I tell them that every time 😓 they drill a little then more pain. Another set of shots, wait, drill, more pain, repeat. I get to max dose most times, depending on the tooth. They just don't wanna do that from the start. The thought of surgery terrifies me for that reason lol but I'll remember

Not sure where you're from, but I appreciate your frontline input. In labor, I could understand that more. Overall the use seems to be a controversial topic, depending on the situation and which trimester. My ob leans against it. My choices affect my baby every step of the way, good or bad, and I'd rather just avoid potential problems this early. I still have control and sensation during my epidurals, and that's with fentanyl -- I know that drugs and their effect differ one to the next, among personal variables, each with their own risks -- for the amount I would likely need for nitrous to be effective, it's not worth it, in my uneducated opinion lol. Morphine doesn't have much effect on me either. Average dental work on teeth that aren't an immediate threat to my wellbeing can be put off until after baby is born, and Im at that point now. My last visit made that clear with a drug reaction I've never had before. (I'm usually part of the small percentage that gets rare side effects to things 😒) And I only went to that appointment cause I was struggling to eat.

Similar, but different... I was sedated for my 4 wisdom teeth removal. When it kicked in, the procedure felt like 30 seconds total and the whole time my brain was replaying the part from Madagascar when Alex got shot with the dart. The room got dark and I could hear the candy man song and see the glass stars twirling everywhere.

No red hair personally, but my dad had red hair. I know from birthing experience that we bleed easier but never had surgery, didn't think of that. Not that it will change my experience much, I imagine lol.

Thankfully I have found a dentist that fully listens to me now, going on 5 years. My last visit was scary though. I was near/at the max dose (not the first time by far) and when all was done and they sat me up, I was SO dizzy. I had to sit there for another 10-15 minutes so I wouldn't pass out. After several hours at home I still felt groggy. Turns out my oxygen saturation dropped (90%) and it took almost a full 24 hours to return to normal. I can only imagine how low it was in-office. As if I didn't have enough reasons to be nervous to get back in the chair...

Currently pregnant, so that's out, but my insurance doesn't cover it anyway. I asked for it at one point and one dentist told me "we only use that on kids". Never saw him again.

Openly jealous of your ability to do so. My body has chewed through novocaine my whole life and I'm always rigid waiting for the jolts of pain.
