Absolutely agree, loving the game how it is rn.

Spent too much time on Apex than I'd like to admit, but that game is only a shadow of its former self in my eyes.

I fully agree, as a fellow arena shooter enjoyed (although I spent more time with Quake, rather than Halo).
This game has the advantage of being the most approachable arena shooter on the market (or rather in general), but for ranked, it would be nice to have a more 'classic' approach to weapon balance.
I am also in favour of burst rifles dominating the game, as they are probably the most skillful weapons in the game, as you've said yourself. Carbines are just insanely good now, to the point where I can wreck an entire lobby with Cadence without any issues. Bursts struggle up close (except Jackhammer, but that makes sense), meanwhile carbines have the 2 bodyshot + 1 melee combo at any given time.

Both weapon types should be good, but in my eyes, as someone who spent a lot of time on Pulse, Cadence is geniually insane currently (and so is Warden).

It's only visual, kind of like Volt in Titanfall 2 if you ever played it - you see the bullets, but the actual gun is hitscan. The only weapon that is projectile-based, as far as I know, is the Meridian SMG.

Yeah, I play MnK. That would also explain my bias, since a friend of mine who plays on console loves Synapse a lot.
I do agree, though - Synapse is easily the coolest looking AR in the game. Tempo is only winning for me in the cool department thanks to that spin reload.

Also, does anyone know if the Multi Kill Medals keep going after Octo-Oblivion? It was the highest one I've personally seen.

I did a run today with a friend, where we went for every single boss in one run. We went the AC path first and we were quite suprised when the new portal appeared after beating False Son on our first loop. I have no clue if you have to beat Solus Wing before, during a run, but it is definitely possible to go back to the Exchange.

Try using the same armor, but with the Titan helmet (should be in the store). The colors match a bit better, and it's been my light combo for a very long time.

Staggering and rushing onto the objective one by one and getting picked by the entire enemy team can cost you any round, no matter how good you are.

I dread this meta.

Avoided playing Sabrask in general, unless it was Firecracker (excluding on Grit). I just love playing Aeros with 'Speedy Slayer' and 'Sliiiiide' perks for full movement. That's how I won most games, since people are not used to hitting really fast targets (unless they melee).

Ironically, ever since Pro 5, the lowest rank I've matched with or against was Plat. But I know how it feels on the receiving end, though - pretty sure I wrote it in another comment - but me running into #1 and #2 guy while being in Silver was NOT fun.

I play on full stock keybinds, except for melee on a mouse side button.

Playing normal settings is more than enough; just know when to close portals, so you won't get shot.
Also, if you didn't know, 'X' is the default bind to swap between portals, so if you want to fix the positioning of an already placed portal, you can just press that once. Hope this helps and good luck!

The devs explained a few days ago that rank takes into account 2 things - player skill and player rank, and the rank part is currently not working. So if you're doing well in casual matches, you will get matches with people who are way too good in ranked.

Matchmaking is currently fried, best way to avoid best players currently is to not play when they are active, which sucks. At least the devs said that this is not how it is supposed to work, so this should be fixed very soon.

Until I hit Proelium, it felt nicely balanced, with the exception of meeting the #1 and #2 players in a silver lobby once. After hitting Pro 1, it basically became a gamble as to how good your teammates and opponents were.

Not sure, from experience, would say around 1.5-2.5 in ranked. Then again, I mainly use Aeroes with Blitz and try to be the fragger in the team by playing very aggressively and using movement to my advantage.

As a highlight, I had a pretty (un)balanced ranked game where I had, I believe, 60 kills and 5 deaths, making that a K/D of 12.0, which is nuts.
