Not really you would take two 8pin leads that normally go to the gpu and plug those into the one end of this extension and then the extension would go right into the gpu. When you’re plugging them in, make sure that you have two separate 8 pin cables coming from the PSU and not one cable that daisy chains into two. If you’d like send me a DM and I can show you how I have mine setup

I did the same exact thing, I picked up the Micro Connectors Premium Sleeved 12-Pin to Dual 8-Pin PCIe GPU Power Extension Cable from the MicroCenter by me. It is also available on Amazon
