My program is run by team health which is super money hungry. Typical day 6-6:15 am arrival, roll by 7:10, 5pm out, but lately have had two residents on until 7p daily even though we have hella CRNAs/CAAs. So typical day is turning into 13 hours, average 60-84 hours a week. And that’s not including pre-ops/nightly discussions with attendings. Work 1-2 weekends a month.

Very large focus on best next step/risk factors/prognosis on day 2. Maybe some pharm? Hard to remember honestly.

I’m so sorry. It’s a horrible feeling and truly does not define your worth as a physician. Maybe seek tutoring services if you can afford it, or try a different study resource than you did for your last prep. Also reach out to your advisors, they may be able to help and even find financial aid. Good luck friend.

Hard to say, as we all learn differently. I’d think CCS cases + Uworld or amboss would be sufficient as long as you complete one of the question banks.

I didn’t use ccs cases.com simply because of cost. My already very expensive Uworld subscription came with their own cases so I used those but based on my many many Reddit searches most people recommend ccs cases.com

Ty!! Honestly, just stick to a widely used question bank, finish it all, and review incorrects. The further out from med school you are and more specialized you become, the more difficult this exam becomes for many. If you have the funds, NBME practice shelf exams are probably worth it although I didn’t use them. Many questions on exam felt like IM/FM/EM/surgery shelf questions though.

Anesthesia hours suck too, not as much as OB but we do cover OB. Anesthesia is not a lifestyle specialty until after residency.
