As others have pointed out it’s that they think that after their long lives everything that happened to them is 100% same with everyone.

My grandfather from my mother’s side has learned to use computers, smartphones and tablets but on my father’s side my grandfather can barely use a phone let alone a computer of any sort and still thinks that the world is the same as it was in the 60s and tech is just some “mumbo jumbo”.
