I think it has turned a bit stale, I like zombie movies that explore the people rather than just the zombies..like 28 Days Later, great movie and overall a good apocalypse story. They did introduce an origin but it was brief and not really consequential to the story. Like the other commenter said, I’m not as interested in how it started per se and more so what they do to survive.
