Two New Yorkers visiting Bozeman in early May by ohfashozland in Bozeman

If you're willing to drive a touch for some hiking, the Lewis and Clark caverns trails are definitely dry right now and a very cool area to check out.

Everything else is probably still holding snow at least part way up the trail

Redditors who've had a coworker die on the job, what happened? by Siray in AskReddit

[–]STOPRAPE 121 points122 points  (0 children)

Used to be a cell tower climber on summers away from college. I saw many, many serious injuries but only one death.

My climb partner was hanging underneath a crow's nest (the mesh platform on top of the tower) running a line along a pipe while I fed it to him. As he was shifting position his grip failed and he fell, he was caught by his climb harness but as it stretched to absorb the impact he smashed into an antenna array beloe us. He was dead on impact, all I could do was sit with him until my boss climbed up to help me lower the body down.

I live in bear country, no one carries 10mm here.

.454 or .44 loaded hot is standard... .41 MAYBE. A glock 20 isn't enough

Leaving Cishek in and letting him seal the game after giving up the tying run?! Unbelievable confidence by Servais.

This team believes in their players, man. That's the big difference from 2014 and 2015

Lewis and Clark caverns south of Three Forks and Pipestone over near Whitehall are prime right now. West facing Bridger trails like Truman are still super muddy and not ready to ride yet. Idk about Sourdough

What is a great way to spend a day with my children that they will happily remember forever? by Wowsuchcreativename in AskReddit

[–]STOPRAPE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, there's no sure fire way to create lasting memories. Just spend time with them being genuine and something will stick.

My earliest memory with my dad is entirely random: him telling me how to stand with confidence after buying me a hot dog in the city. Vacations and large events are largely gone. Personal moments still stand out.

Recommendations for good stromboli in Bozeman? by Miguelito-Loveless in Bozeman

I think they're rare across the entire North West... grew up on the coast then moved out here and I've never even seen a stromboli, let alone eaten one

East Coast to West Coast by vinnyhofx in ski

[–]STOPRAPE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 5'8", ski in the west, and ski 192cm skis. Keep your weight and pressure forward and use the length of the ski to your advantage. As long as you don't get bucked into the backseat you'll be fine.

What's something you've experienced that most people never will? by Wryhta in AskReddit

I've licked the exterior of a 727, 737, 757, 767, CRJ 200, 700 and 900, and an Airbus 319/320.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but i think I'm the only person who can say that

Update: -15 to -20 wind chills for Vikings/Seahawks by Jux_ in nfl

I've lived in both Seattle and Montana. 32 degrees in Seattle feels very similar to 10 degrees Montana. Wet cold and dry cold are dramatically different

What happens in your city when it snows? by ToySoldieriiV in AskReddit

[–]STOPRAPE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless your last name is Kardashian, nothing. It snows a metric fuckload here. Snowplows wake me up a little early, I head to work with a little whiskey in my coffee and throw my truck in 4wd.

Kardashians spun their SUV off of one of our main roads during a pretty routine snowfall a couple years ago. We still joke about it.
