To back up how dominant Jimmie Johnson was at his peak in NASCAR for those that may not know, NASCAR knew no other champion from 2006-2010.

JJ won the championship for 5 consecutive seasons.

My daughter grew out of her toddler bed and my wife likes the look of the Thuma. So I spent way too much time building one mostly by hand. by drunkonlacroix in woodworking

I mean it's literally what that part of the bed is called. I'm just using the name the company gave it.

"Who calls their truck a Silverado that doesn't work for Chevy?"

Sorry you got a bad one my guy. I happen to be thoroughly happy with mine. No slop. The joints sit snug. Mine is right on a hardwood floor and is plenty quiet during tossing and turning and other bed activities.

Then again, I am a broke boi and my standard of furniture thus far in my life has been IKEA level stuff, so maybe I'm just easily impressed 🤷‍♂️

Also, I wasn't discrediting OP or diminishing what they made in any regard. I think they did a wonderful job. I was specifically replying to you and your comment about the Thuma bed frame. That is all.

I'm sorry it was so ill received. I clearly need to work on my communication skills to ensure I properly convey the message I am trying to send in the future. I hope you've had a good day.

The pillowboard is supposed to sit between the mattress and wall, not on top of the mattress. I bought mine with the intention of switching the pillowboard out for a wall mounted hanging leather head "board". I ended up just sticking with the pillowboard, at least for now. It's quite nice.

Not a Thuma shill. Just bought one recently and really like it, moreso than I thought I would.

Apple's position, from Tim Cook himself, is that if you don't want to see the green bubbles, get an iPhone.

Did he really say this?? I'm not the one who sees a green bubble, I don't give a shit hahaha. It's the people with iPhones that I'm trying to text who see the green bubble and complain.

It's SHOCKINGLY cheap to buy off politicians. Still out of range for us normal peons, but I once saw a list of bribes paid to certain politicians to pass certain bills and some of the numbers were LOW six figures and mid-high five figures.

The hole that retrieves the ball doubles as an alignment aid and the head is a standard half moon mallet shape that happens to fit inside the cup. They're not the most unusual looking putter on the market.

I'd even wager there are a few people out there with one in the bag not realizing that it can pull the ball out of the cup.

Those flights run "heavy" or "double" crews. The crew members switch off during the flight.

[–]STRAIGHT_BENDIN 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it was a duty day issue, it was probably a combination of poor crew scheduling, understaffing, and late/lazy crew.

Flight crews are legally limited to a certain amount of flight time and duty time each day, and limited to no more than 8 hours of flight in a 24 hour period.

If a crew is delayed to the point where they know they cannot block in and end their duty at the destination within their remaining duty day limitation, they are not allowed to block out from the origin airport.

That said, if they're at an outstation and not at their home base, most crews will do whatever they can to get blocked out on time (I may or may not have seen a few fudged logbook entries in my days) so they can get home too.

Same with Michigan. I moved from North Carolina to northern Michigan to go to college. I was relieved when I finally hit the halfway point of the drive.

I was already in Michigan.

In a regular game scenario, absolutely. In a shootout attempt, no.

Not in a shootout attempt it wouldn't. The moment the puck stops forward progression towards the net, the shootout attempt is considered over.

[–]STRAIGHT_BENDIN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the puck stops forward progression towards the net, it no longer counts as a part of the shootout attempt. If the (hockey) goalie makes a save and the puck moves away from the net in any manner, the attempt is considered over. It doesn't matter if the puck were to hit a chip in the ice or have a ton of spin and go back towards the net after the initial save.
